I’m a public librarian in a degenerating democracy, and I am pleading: Care about your library. Use it. See what programs and events it offers. And pay attention to its governing body. See who the trustees are. Consider running yourself. Libraries will need all the community support they can get. 📚

As a trustee of my local Library, I cannot 2nd this any harder. Libraries do an amazing job, fueled by librarians who are literally waiting to help you with any and everything. Helping people to them is like sunshine to a flower. It makes them blossom.
And they help you blossom in return.

I got a headache so I need help with this question. Also I got books I can donate.
Publishers and available space may make it difficult to get donations on the circulation shelf. However, at least in some areas libraries can use donated books as part of fundraising sales even if they can’t put things in circulation. Check with your library and its policy.
To paraphrase a friend of mine, it’s time to take an active role in the library experience.
And I borrow loads of ebooks, audio books, & digital magazines. Libraries offer something for everyone, seriously.
I am a weekly library user, and my branch which is in a low-income, public housing area, is always packed.
