Not America because 85 million Americans decided they are okay with their elected leader bowing down to Putin.
The whole GOP is complicit in taking funds from Russia. Idiots! Countries in this world who know what’s good for them are fighting against him.
If Assad's regime falls, it will be an enormous drawback for Putin: Syria is a necessary logistic hub, for Russia to exert military power in the Mediterranean and in Africa
With Ukraine, he took a step way longer than his leg, and stumbled
Is there really a chance that Assad will survive this attempted overthrow? It looks more like when, not if, and Putin’s days definitely come to an end sooner without Syria.
Now we see clearly that Putin is at his weakest militarily but stays relevant thanks to 1) Trump sabotaging NATO and 2) RU farm bots that hurt democratic rule in Europe. Europe and Biden should unite and hurt Putin hard by seizing frozen assets and blocking all pro Russia media (X, TikTok).
They've done what was needed to stop Russia winning. But they've not been prepared to enable Ukraine to win - the cost there is high.
However, it was not really that I was talking about - it's the determined blindness to Russian interference in elections through manipulation of SM and other things.
Well, that's the obvious physical war. We appear to be doing nothing at all about the insidious other side of Putin's war making - buying influence alongside dissemination of misinformation & sowing division.
I wrote to my Labour MP yesterday on exactly this topic. We need to protect our democracy from foreign influence whether corporate or state actors. We’re losing the misinformation war badly at the moment. Ignorance is rife!
Part of that’s down to the gaping holes in the education system. Misinformation and propaganda only gets Putin, Farage, Musk etc so far. If people are actually taught critical thinking and emotional maturity from a young age they’d be less susceptible/moronic.
Unfortunately, all resistance from the US is about to go away in a month or so. Putin will be able to breathe easier with all the US sanctions gone and no more weapons to Ukraine. If Ruzzia is to implode and collapse, it has to be in the next month, otherwise the orcs will have the upper hand.
I really hope Europe can find the resources and will to ensure Putin wins nothing from his invasion of Ukraine. He doesn't need to lose anything (other than face) but I don't want him to accrue any benefit at all.
The US is falling apart. Already the most dangerous country on the planet with its 750 military bases across the globe, destabilising countries, promoting war & climate breakdown in the relentless search for oil. The American Dream is the nightmare scenario for most of the world, not Putin
His moronic puppets including Trump & his brown-nosed sycophants Farage & Muskrat might not be so confident if Syria falls to the rebels and the rest follow in repelling the Putin virus
I wonder if this will temper the enthusiasm for Putin among DDT and other far right groups in the US and elsewhere. If Putin is weakened, DDT will have a harder 2nd term.
Or...
USA, France, Germany, Italy, UK, Hungary, South Korea, Israel/Iran. Putin's plan to stoke internal tensions to destabilise the foundation of Western democracy is working across the globe right now.
Yes, he's winning the information battle, but he is losing all the hard battles. He has no armour left, he's lost a large chunk of his air force and navy, he's run down all his ammo, he's lost maybe half a million personnel, and his elite troops aren't elite any more. All he's got intact are wmd.
Trump is an isolationist. Even though he will be friendly to Putin, it will be at best in the form of removing sanctions and stopping aid to Ukraine and our NATO allies to focus on a silent war with Mexico and Latin America. I doubt even the GOP-led legislature would approve earmarks to help Putin.
I'm not over or underestimating putain. His army is shattered, his navy is on the run, his economy is ruined, every city in European Russia is under bombardment and he has killed about 400000 Russian soldiers in return for fuck all. He's cooked.
He did, and was seen as a strongman, but then he invaded Ukraine, and that war has dragged on so long its a major embarrassment.
Add to that failures on other fronts, which are beginning to pile up, somebody at home is inevitably going to deal with him unless he gets a major win in the near future.
It's the logistics, home and abroad, that will do for him. He is infinitely weaker than 3 years ago and I still believe his biggest threat will come from within his inner circle..
Yes there's huge geopolitical events being unleashed. But in the short term, let's hope we see Bashar Al Assad hanging from a lamp post. And his British wife. Best of luck to the people of this historic, but recently tragic nation.
Interesting. Where can I find out more about Kremlin unrest? So hard for me to know what’s wishful thinking and what is based on intelligence right now.
When I hear the words at the end of Andor season 1 about something rotten at the heart of the empire, reaching out like rust... makes me think of Putin, his grip on Russia and how he's sowing so much chaos around the world.
That might be why everything else is destabilizing. They spent so much time and money in the West and Ukraine that they've overextended their influence
The Kurdish Issue needs resolving inter alia.
No "Kurdistan" = No Peace in that part of the region. Erdogan will intervene big time on the Kurdish Issue
This shit now causing division in my Romanian girlfriend’s extended family, exactly as the last 8 years of insanity has in my own. Dealing with this cunt and his network of oligarchs and treacherous useful idiots needs to be #1 priority for whatever is left of European liberal democracies.

I think a closer look is the pressure against Iran…

A vote for Trump was a vote for Putin.
Sad that MAGA doesn't realize this.
With Ukraine, he took a step way longer than his leg, and stumbled

Concerning times.
