Yes just like politics in this country.
Every day it’s the same a running commentary of a totally useless psycho drama where the protagonists are disconnected from everyone else.
Even the media don’t represent what we all experience.
Do the media think the public are stupid? Politicians appear to…
Yes, the greyness is soul sapping. I think we could cope with it better if the new government put every effort into making the population happier. They appear to be doing the opposite.
Community groups and structures of every sort where we all feel supported and valued are something we can only dream of. And to restore public services and cherish public servants must surely help restore joy to our souls.
I don't believe this is impossible. Surely, if we were all happier our imagination and creative juices would start flowing and we could live to build each other up.
Nope! I go to work, come back ,turn up the heat and get ensconced to watch Christmas movies. We still have 3 months of this. I won't let myself get the SADS this year. I also took down my blackout blinds.
Must say, that's one of things I don't miss from my years of living in London.
With that said, here in Vancouver we get about 6 times more rain per annum than where you are - but it's easier to live with it, as it comes with living in the middle of a rainforest...
Good luck for the months to come!
Working on the South coast. One day a colleague in Glasgow called me and said "what's the weather like", I said "pretty grim", he said "it's sunny here that's why I asked".
Very underrated, everyone thinks non stop summer is great, but last year it was over 30c every day for about 7 months.
I love seeing the trees change. I know the short days suck, but the long summer days make up for it.
Iceland bedecks itself with utterly over-the-top bright lights, decorations, mythical figures etc as soon as their long long dark winter starts. It's absolutely brilliant...you just don't really notice the dark after a while. It's the best solution.
I've heard of this! Not in Iceland, but in Norway and other Scandinavian nations. They really do get into festivities and decorations and making things cozy and beautiful in the winter. It's part of how they stave off seasonal depression, I've read. They just embrace it and go all out
I kind of love it. Winter is such a great time for reflection and meditation and prayer. The way nature goes quiet. The stillness of the night. The invigorating chill of the air. Don't even get me started on snow! The wonder of winter never ceases to amaze
So, I'm pretty sure quite a few Ukrainians in the Donbas region wouldn't mind swapping places. Many fewer artillery drones in your photo. I'm not trying to be dramatic, just pointing out that your glass might be a bit fuller than you think.

It’s the UK’s default setting !

This was down the road from me for 14 years. So yes: I find Decembers here rather dull.
All the lodges had Christmas decorations and waiters with Christmas hats. And one dressed as Santa (really). Christmas carols by the camp fire.
I mean, totally brass monkeys, but if you don't mind freezing to death, it was beautiful...
Can you do Geology, next?
Wears on his smiling face a dream of Spring
north of Scotland where it's permanently night time haha

You know it makes sense.
