Times have changed, my friend. And c'mon, admit it-- you'd gleefully drink from Nancy Mace's skull once it was properly cleaned out of the rodents & toxic gloop that's in there.
Taking time to watch the birds & squirrels who come to your own bird feeder.
- and yes let the squirrels have some too. If Mother Nature's animals can share, so can you.
Playing cards with your oldest friends and they are laughing until you all have tears rolling down your faces then you show your cards and take the whole $ 12.00 pot like you just won a million !
Good call, I live in the Central Valley in California. I love driving out in the country late summer evenings and smelling fresh cut alfalfa, similar to grass but a sweeter smell.
Watching my rescue pup, formerly emaciated and timid, gleefully chasing a ball in a big open field, healthy and happy with her black coat glistening in the sun. Pure joy.
Finding a musical group you love ( #EXO ), discovering they have hundreds of songs in their discography and loving almost every one of them. You don't know how rare that is. Most times I'll like one or two songs...but hundreds? Unheard of in my life.
I especially recommend @pmskinner.bsky.social's Baby Kitty. BK is on his way to a forever home, but I have his purr sessions bookmarked for therapy these upcoming four years.
Eating a juicy localish peach from a farmer’s market or roadside stand over the sink. As you try to scarf it down before it ruins your shirt, it’s easy to believe it’s the very best thing about summer.
Right now, I’m in my kitchen making dinner with my favorite Doctor Who episode on while I cook, and my dog, Salami, waits expectantly for me to drop something. Hands-down, my favorite part of the day.
Im intrigued.
What's your favorite episode?
Mine is "Rose", the first episode of the revived Doctor, with Christopher Eccleston.
My husband and I are watching all the Dr Who episodes from the beginning. We're up to the 70s now.
Mine is Blink- those angel statues have been freaking me out my whole life, so it was like RTD was writing specifically to my phobias 😂 But ‘Rose’ was a great kickoff for the revival
Oh, my friend, you are missing out! The entire revival series has been incredible!! The first 13 seasons are on Max, and the current seasons are on Disney+

Phone, keys, all that.
My anxiety goes way down when I don't have to frantically search.
You should know this!

Not sure why I thought of that after reading your comment. But there it is. 😉

The smell of freshly cut hay. And of forest earth.
Finding a pretty rock…or a nice shark tooth at the beach.
It happens in Virginia too.
