Judge Lawrence VanDyke, a far-right Trump appointee, uploaded a YouTube video as part of his dissent from a new decision upholding California's large-capacity magazine ban. He provides a tutorial, in his robes, on how magazines work, using real guns. Watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMC7Ntd4d4c&ab_channel=UnitedStatesCourtofAppealsfortheNinthCircuit

*proceeds to do exactly that*
Yikes.
Astonishingly unprofessional & judicially, uniquely bankrupt.
I think the further demonstration of that is not necessary, but ok, I see it.
"Obviously, weapons are prohibited in any Federal court facility. This includes firearms of any type as well as knives."
Obviously..
Alternatively, he might have borrowed them from an evidence room.
Or US men, whatever, clearly we can't handle it.
Regardless of whether you agree with the judge, I think we could all benefit from hearing more from judges and getting explanations on their thinking.
Actually, no. Because I ultimately do not care about gun nut judges.
My god.
The magazine capacity is not relevant any more than if it were a breach load or a revolver.
The optics on a handgun may inadvertently reclassify it as a short barrel rifle. It’s still irrelevant to his claims.
He talks about a handgun being used for hunting. Slurs around his newly capped teeth. Squirrely AF.
Worst audition tape for the Real World -- erm, the Supreme Court -- ever.

😉
Like me.
so I hope that legal experts and commentators will dunk of Judge VanDyke in part for his legally inappropriate pose as an expert witness
but more for his wrongness on the merits of what the second amendment says/means
Bruen stinks so does VanDyke
