Reminder that these remakes are happening solely because labeling a thing as "live action" that's like 90% cg animation avoids having to pay union animators, and instead can use cheap un-unionized VFX animators

First look at Stitch in the live-action #LiloAndStitch movie

F**k this movie, btw. It's Chris Sanders' designs and desire to make the film that make it a classic.
not sure what he has on his neck there, it's not flowers or feathers for sure for one example
Are there any resources/articles that talk about how the "live action" label lets them do this?
Also they have been making me depressed realizing how Disney lost that spark.

That fact is depressing lol
Out this week we have Hertic, Here, Conclave, Elevation, We Live in Time, Anora, Weekend in Tepai, Small Things like this
just like a Disney exec!
Absolute bummer how much production art has swung towards production and away from art.
That's awful.
I thought labeling animation as "live action" was just to enter award shows and to market it as a "real" film.
I mean, outside of using real lions would have been super dangerous, but argubly, would have been VERY interesting.
Not... fuckin TED as envisioned by underpaid vfx artists
I'm pretty sure I've seen characters with better fur before.
Still, I always wondered what was up with that. I thought it was because of actor ego and putting asses in seats
Anyways this poster is too nice to say it so I will
Fuck Disney and here's even more reason to hate them
Did you sign the petition? It's open for non-animators too

the difference doesn't matter. there's still CG that disney is paying vfx studios to make. They hire vfx studios that aren't unionized. the vfx studios do the animation.
again: they make these films because paying feature animators is more expensive.
you know I'm an animator, right....
the animation guild is trying to fight for better wages, right now, if that's something you care about
*That's* what it is!
I had assumed it was some sort of 'copyright preservation' thing using some obscure loophole, but this makes infinitely more sense!
My parents trusted me when they showed me Wizards by Ralph Bakshi.
And why is this so cartoon looking!
i havent liked a disney since tarzan anyway >:U
Wasnβt Donald Duck on Hot Ones or something this year or last year and they didnβt credit anyone??
I really hope that Minecraft movie that is being made by Warner Brothers flops, because I fear that if it succeeds then WB gets one more "proof" that you can just do that shit endlessly with any franchise and the "dumb kids" will still love it
They are trying to stand up to AMPTP right now on this, please consider signing this to help them avoid going on strike

Even I never bat an eye of those movies.
Suddenly things make so much more sense.
if happy feet is animated despite having live action, way of water should be too
