THERE IS NO AMERICAN CONSTITUENCY FOR AN ALLIANCE WITH RUSSIA. Even the GOP hates it. It’s just that Russia, for reasons we STILL do not know, owns Trump.

Breaking news: U.S. sides with Russia to vote against a U.N. resolution condemning Moscow for the Ukraine war.
Washington’s dramatic shift on the conflict marks a major break with its European allies and coincides with the Trump administration’s bid to repair relations with the Kremlin.

Trump admires Putin and wants to be like him. No coercion required.
ARREST HIM
I don’t even think it’s kompromat - a video of him banging a Moscow hooker wouldn’t move his numbers at all sadly.
A) VALUES. Trump admires dictators and tyrants because they represent his crude definition of “strength”
B) MONEY. Trump is being paid or has investment opportunities in Russia
C) SECRETS.Putin has dirt on Trump and is blackmailing him
D) all of the above
I don't think it's more complicated than that, Trump was to emulate him
Trump’s admiration for Kim Jung Un is well-documented. Clearly Trump respects the guy for his sadistic & brutal reign over North Korea
Moreover, I am extremely skeptical that Donald Trump is being paid or blackmailed by North Korea. His admiration seems genuine 😳
Money
Ideology
Leverage
Ego
Trump is vulnerable to influence in all of these ways. He's such an obvious security risk, no federal organisation would ever be able to hire him
I think unless it's a *physical* threat, there's nothing that they could have that Trump has to be afraid of.
I don’t think they do. They like it because Trump tells them to like it. Therefore, they like it.
This is why so many of them are pro-Russia and other authoritarian regimes.
We MUST stop looking at the "policy disagreements" and start looking at the ideological shift!

It was ideological
Not just policy
Because the other side doesn’t listen
I thought the campaign was good
But your perception is valid
Also masculinity (or aesthetics)
After getting reelected in spite of January 6th, four indictments, and becoming a convicted felon, it’s clear there is nothing of consequence that Putin can do to Trump.
He’s just in love with the idea of being able to jail or kill people at will.
And there's not that much daylight between MAGA and GOP anymore. Not enough for it to matter electorally.
It’s not a majority but it’s there and substantial.
It's surprising this alignment didn't happen sooner.
That when Trump went to Russia, and spent the night in a hotel, he was videotaped having sex with Russian prostitutes?
THAT'S HOW THE RUSSIANS WORK.
And Putin can END TRUMP'S POLITICAL POWER IN A MINUTE.
It's called GODDAMN KOMPROMAT.
“Reward me, I Reward you”is his spiel.
Trump must get something or no deal.
But with Russia he doesn’t ask a thing.
Putin’s dirt on him must be scathing!
Trump take egg for Putin
(Only it’s probably something way worse)
The evidence so far is that Republicans support Trump (or maybe Musk) as King-for-life. So long as they get a cut.
Smarter people than me have dug deeper and found more, but I think it ultimately comes down to money for him.
Don't forget Trump is beholden to Putin for all the bailout money from Russia when no US bank would touch him because of his multiple bankruptcies.
I agree that most Americans don't support the Kremlin though.
But what are we going to do about it?
At some point, all the snow on the ground has to be proof that it snowed overnight, even if there's no video evidence documenting the snowfall.
I think Putin is Trump's personal idol. I think he aspires to be like Putin and sees him as a personal hero.
In his first term he seemed to really like Kim Jong Un, who I doubt has anything on him. He also praised Fattah Al Sisi and Duterte.
So it's really odd that one would antagonise allies and go after Russia!
Not explainable any other way, really!

white supremacy is a belief. it’s not actually like 100 degrees Celsius being the boiling point of water.

At the end of the day? I think both are true, honestly.
Anne Applebaum wrote how Russians were courting Donald in the 70s and 80s
As a Canadian, it seems odd for R's to roll over with Russia = good now.

At this point, it seems an open damn secret.
Elon’s child mercenaries might as well cut all their budgets if they’re that useless in defending against all enemies
In a sense I suppose I do want "peace" with them.
We have peace with Germany today, and they used to be Nazis.
Know how that happened? We kicked their shit in, crushed their fascist imperialist project.
As the Venn Diagram of Russian Banks, Russian Mob and Putin and his cronies is basically a circle, they got their hooks in him. (1/?)
I hope to FUCK CIA and NSA are keeping sources and methods out his tiny...hands. (2/2)
