Whatever you think you need to do. Right, wrong, or indifferent, take the actions you think are needed, when you think they are needed. (I know that's crappily vague, but it will always vary by what you see, experience, have capability for)
I would say, pack a bag, git yer papers in order, stock up anything imported that you cannot live without {coffee, tea, chocolate, kitty fud and litter?} , get some cash in hand in small denoms, and then get out there and raise a freekin ruckus! Oh, and tell yer loved ones ya looove em, everyday.
Serious answer: get to know your neighbors. Keep tabs of anyone you think might be on social security. Bring a casserole to neighbors who might be struggling, whether with fatigue, bills or emotionally. Build your local networks.
Simplify as much as possible. Have a plan for medications.
Talk to your doctor to see if any meds would need to be tapered off and see if they recommend keeping a tapering supply on hand.

Making connections with as many local resources as possible, getting to know local mutual aid groups, contributing to (or starting) a community garden, supporting local unions, attending the nationwide protest this Saturday April 5th (https://theblop.org), reading books about revolutions,
Learn how to DIY things, like hand sewing, making a water filtration system, and other things that can be useful. Take a CPR class, can be done online these days. Update your first aid kits. Learn, connect, organize. ✊
Canning is way easier than people think. You can get started with just a stock pot and mason jars. Most of your elderly friends and neighbors probably have a big box of canning stuff hanging around somewhere and would love to get a jar of jam in return for it.
I was going to say "Calgon, take me away" and take a hot bath, but you know.... I think today's a "order from Dominos and stop at the dispensary and pick up a dime bag" kind of night. Maybe get some ice cream too.
Buy guns, ammo, water filters, dry food, radio, a good pair of boots, learn how to use it all, workout, and maintain opsec.
Then get your friends, family, and neighbors to all do the same, and be ready.
i’m knitting and trying to forget about the state of the world. took a break to go on my phone and i failed the “forget about the state of the world” thing unfortunately
Go to the library. It's peaceful and I'll bet someone put up a poster that leads you to people doing things that soothe your soul, whether that's mutual aid, political activism, or street protests. Or knitting. Never underestimate the power of knitting.
This is what drives me lately. I'm either going to survive or if that's not possible I'm going to fight tooth and nail and do some damage to some Nazis.

- Pondering the ol' withdrawing money and stashing it under the bed act.

Feeling cute, maybe I'll unblock people and pick fights later.
hopefully learning Mandarin to get a leg up in a few years, most realistically start looking into tricks to stretch...basically everything you're buying now, food and anything wood (including paper) probably will be the first shit hit due to Canada/Mexico

It's basically impossible to fail. Didn't jell? Syrup! Didn't seal? Give it to a neighbour!

Inexpensive (right now) and cannot hurt.
Get at least one big bottle of oil or a can of shortening.
Make stuff & then give it away.
Watch shit that makes you laugh.
Protect your neighbors.
Do things that make evil people sad.
Stay alive.
