i noticed a lot of the various american "fuck around and find out" types don't seem to be internalizing that they also live in america and will also be finding out

To me, It’s just an empathy thing for those who deserve it.
I’m quite aware everyone will reap the same bullshit to some degree, but those who only wanted hardship for other people need to learn and they’re about to learn the hard way. Unfortunately, that’s likely what it’s going to take.
I’ve always said we need to work together to defeat this and we can argue after. We need to make sure there’s an after.
It doesn’t mean I’m not going to enjoy the racists finding out exactly what their bigoted votes brought on. It is schadenfreude, but I’ll take whatever I can get.
I’m almost as pissed at those who stayed home, too, but not excited to see them suffer. I just want the vile people to get what’s coming to them. They’re a small fraction of the whole.
I don’t control my empathetic response. It’s a spectrum like anything else.
I won’t apologize for feeling worse for innocent people vs. those who wanted them to suffer. I feel bad for anyone suffering, but I can compartmentalize and be objective.
shit im poor already. the most that will happen to me is ill be homeless with no money at all. and ive done that before so i know ill survive. but these other people lol they will definitely find out
True. But some of us know it all too well and have been predicting it for quite a while. Still makes FAFO worth saying in certain instances, particularly in the case of MAGAts who are really un-self-aware. Also, and not for nothing, something something leopards something faces something.
I don’t understand that mentality. I did not want to find out! Actively tried to do things so I wouldn’t have to. I knew I would not like the find out phase and could not help fearing it would be worse than previous times we have found out.
None of us want to find out, which is why the people who fucked around need to be called the fuck out so that nobody fucking listens to those dipshits next time - namely the butter-soft impressionable centrists who listen to these idiots and "both sides" everything.
We knew we would and will be finding out, unlike the folks that actually voted for this, me and others like me have been preparing as much as possible for the fall...
We take our comfort where we can. My wife and I are literally watching our retirement accounts dissolve, and our kid college funds vanish.
It’s either laugh at the woes of those who voted for the Fancy Fascist, or start stabbing.
To sincere post for a minute, I'm not proud of it (nor ashamed), but sometimes the only way I get through the chaos every day is finding out the iceberg fans don't have lifeboats either.
It gives me a sliver of hope that enough of them might wake up before all we have left is ashes.
Yeah I saw a post yesterday along the lines of "can't wait for those who [voted differently to my expectations] to learn the consequences" as though we're not all living in the same dimension. It's like those people who get mad at traffic jams like their not part of the damned traffic
In their fight against genocide, they decided to do nothing and then whine that nothing is improving. Meanwhile, Trump is sentencing everyone to a worldwide genocide essentially. But hey, at least they got to sleep better on election night knowing the lady lost.
From an outside perspective I've noticed a big overlap between "everyone in the red states deserves to starve" skeets and "don't blame me, I voted for her" in the bio. Like, we're not going to make that distinction in a trade war. That's kinda how they work.
I fully understood the inevitable outcome of Election Day was my economic prospects and personal freedom were over. The only way out of this is for the slack jawed stupids to reach the same conclusion and the sooner the better.
We know that we're all going to suffer. But let us experience a bit of schadenfreude before it all burns down. 'I told you so' feels pretty good. And, yes, we'll all have to come together eventually. That's going to be difficult knowing that these fkn imbeciles voted against my very existence.
My dad looked me IN THE FACE and said he was voting for Trump to "save me from myself". And the reason I don't own a home is because I "am not working hard enough". I sure as hell am celebrating his stocks and retirement crashing out.
I went over to twitter yesterday to see what the maga idiots were saying and I swear the mental gymnastics they pull defending everything is absolutely insane.
They will still be saying this is all great as they lose their jobs and houses.
It's *interesting* how FAFO was largely circulated on right-wing manosphere dens as comments and captions to different violent videos as a justification to the brutality being enacted.
The people adopting this term have the same violence peversion, and get off targeting their out groups.
And the rest of us, not in America, are gonna find out too even if we didn't fuck around because people don't seem to realize that the actions of the US have global consequences 😭
Yes but it's more so that we knew but had to listen to an endless tirade about how crazy we were for far too long. So though we too live here, it's satisfying to watch the other side come to their senses. It's a small win in a giant fucking mess.
Maybe it's not the best response but I won't pretend there's no humor value in watching people who worked to bring us here out of spite for me & mine realize they're getting what they voted for.
Just like a certain other group, they're assuming that the real pain will only be on those that 'deserve' it, for either voting for Trump or not being sufficiently loyal to Dems.
also see a lot of fafo regarding people in other countries with misguided positivity towards our right wing and like
they didn't fa
they will only fo
schadenfreude over "you caused this" is one thing, "you had the wrong idea and nothing to do with this" suffering-celebration is juuust cruelty
Watching all these LOUD people DEMANDING that All Those Fools in “the red states” deserve what they “chose,” AND in the same breath HAPPILY disregarding the MASSIVE efforts by the Rs in power to disenfranchise/jail/fire for voting thier own neighbors, in the same breath…
ALWAYS on about the Low Voter Turnout and exactly NO INTEREST in WHY THAT IS HAPPENING, parroting the bs that is “well they didn’t even bother to vote, they must just be stupid cousin fuckers!”
Bitch 1/4 of our votes are trashed BC they are marked for the Wrong Candidate, by the governor’s goons.
Nah, we know. I hope the pain of reality will jolt some folks out of the cult. Nothing else seems to work. Those of us who didn't FA would be dealing with the pain of a psychopath being in charge regardless.
Let me ask folks, because I am wondering: if a business relies totally on imports from China and sells to local governments that rely on grants, do you think its MAGA owner is starting to wake up?
Unfortunately, it's not his only source of income.
We didn’t have to find out…we already knew.
reps have been so annoying since election that we are feeling just a little gratified when they finally find a brain cell and finally realize how totally fucked this is.
FAFO liberals are my least favorite kind of people. They have no empathy for the perspectives of other people and they think it's funny when innocent people and their children suffer. They're ghouls.
But it’s not just FAFO libs. You get black people saying FAFO to ALL white people. Canadians saying FAFO to ALL Americans. Blaming literally any “ALL *** people” is a shitty coping mechanism. Like, get therapy. Being a fucking asshole to a whole group of people makes you a bad person. Shut up.
"Being a fucking asshole to a whole group of people makes you a bad person"
What do you think FAFO people are doing?
Also, "FAFO Liberals" is not a group of people. It's individuals being hateful to others based on some characteristic about them (color, gender, how they assume someone voted, etc)
Exactly. I’m not going to support or agree with someone who resorts to blaming others and wanting to see them suffer. No one should suffer. No one has to suffer. And thinking some people deserve to suffer is a fucked up ideology. Regardless of who those people are.
I thought when people were saying “fuck around and find out” in reference to MAGA supporters, it was basically just saying, “You voted for a shitty leader, and now you get shitty policies”.
I think there is a spectrum of this. There is a certain way to do it in a way that's not hateful or enjoying the suffering. Like, me telling a friend who voted for Trump that they voted for this guy and now he's doing this and next time they can vote differently. Not laughing in their face.
That’s fair. I don’t enjoy people suffering or anything, but I also won’t pretend I that particularly care for the people that brought this upon us all, it’s karma and I hope some of them can do better in the future, but my empathy and sympathy is better spent on people more worthy of it than them.
Yea, that's why they're my least favorite. They SHOULD know better and they act like they do. But then they act just as hateful to others and I'm like, what is your goal? What do you actually care about? What are your actual values? Because this FAFO shit sure isn't very peace and love.
The other part is that right now, we need converts, and the goal is to make a part of Trump's coalition break off, ideally permanently from Trump and the Republican party, and the FAFO liberals are among the least useful people in this effort.
Exactly. 1st we all deserve empathy. 2nd the idea that all T voters are lost causes is giving up on like 77M people. When theyre hurting with us and see it, that's the perfect opportunity to commiserate and help them turn the page. I work with @leavingmaga.bsky.social and this is their whole mission
It's the way they know those states are so gerrymandered too - cause why else is Crenshaw's district in Texas shaped the way it is - but still paint the whole area as red, as the "enemy". And when you look at the makeup it's the marginalized who didn't vote for it in those districts suffering.
I'm in his district. It's horrible how gerrymandered we are in Texas. It feels like we have no voice and then we constantly have to share the punishment and pain from their horrifying policies. Texas government is so so corrupt.
Yea, it's sad as hell that their infrastructure is not ready for the weather. And it seems to happen every damn ysar at this point. Like, I had a little hehe as a northerner because southerners are cute trying to to like walk/drive with snow, but I also made it clear they deserve safe insfratructure
I'm a northerner who unfortunately lives in Texas now. I made a snowman in my front yard this winter and was quickly joined by some little kids who'd never seen anyone do that before. Laughing at Texans in snow is absolutely correct. But, yes, also...
Honestly when it's just a little snow or ice then it's funny, as soon as people start dying & others are still pointing & laughing I'm like bruhhh. Texan friends complaining when it's 14 degrees Celsius: bless 🤭 Texan friends complaining when it's deep below freezing: holy shit how can I help?
Lol yea, I remember a post of them canceling school like 4 days early or something in SC because they expected less than 1 inch of snow and I was crying laughing. 4 days early is crazy talk, like that's not how that works lol. But when their power grids fail it's so dangerous and not funny at all
The FAFO types around here fill me with despair. There’s so many of them and they absolutely will not listen.
They’re aligned on stopping Trump and we could be allies on that basis, but their hearts are black and they revel in the exact sort of spite that got us here.
“If these are our allies, we’re doomed. What is there even left to save if this is how we behave?” is what I find myself thinking in the darker moments, even if it’s not what I believe.
This. I've been preparing since Kavanaugh was put on the SC. They thought they'd just put the chains on "other people's" ankles and necks and they'd all be fine. Now they're getting shackled and dragged to hell with us. I'll take what I can get.
I’ve been preparing for the “find out” period for the last couple years, so while I’ll experience it I’m going to make it through the other side fine barring a total collapse of America. Even then I’m prepared.
I think it's a defense mechanism. I understand it because it was so obvious to many of us what a sham this guy was. And they kept following him. But you're right. We are all going to suffer.
I think they know it, but it's rather the grim satisfaction they're deriving from seeing everyone who tried to keep their own boats afloat by tossing oppressed minorities overboard go down with the rest of us anyway.
I have outcomes anticipated for myself. What is happening isn't even the worst that I could be facing as many of the outcomes involve being killed by the fascists.

Honestly they're lucky that's all they have to endure, plus the consequences of their actions, which we all have to endure.
(I hate my[self] brain)
On the surface it’s Trump but he's the front of a well funded & organized group at war with us, & most of the perps are hidden.
We lack direction so blame each other.
Part of me is like “fuck ‘em all,” but I hope we all end up just helping each other, because tribalism will definitely tear us apart.
It’s either laugh at the woes of those who voted for the Fancy Fascist, or start stabbing.

Go to hell
Seriously, I've never seen someone say *everyone*, seems like a strawman.
So the least I can do is enjoy the spite.
They will still be saying this is all great as they lose their jobs and houses.
Just because half of us FAFO doesn't mean those of us who didn't and recognize what they did, can't call them out for it.
WE KNOW THIS IS GONNA HURT.
The people adopting this term have the same violence peversion, and get off targeting their out groups.
Somehow we're convinced other people's mistakes can't hurt us
Maybe it's not the best response but I won't pretend there's no humor value in watching people who worked to bring us here out of spite for me & mine realize they're getting what they voted for.

Seems more like someone whose house was set on fire getting a little satisfaction from knowing the arsonists got burned in the process.
It's going to affect us all, so I'll be kicking them in the ass the entire way to Hell!
A misery loves company sort of thing.
