It's great that turnout here seems high, but a long line is also a sign of voter suppression because Ohio's GOP limited early voting to just 1 site per county regardless of population.
Franklin County's 1.3 million people (heavily Dem) & Vinton County's 12,000 people (heavily GOP) each get 1 site

"Wild idea-have you people considered trying to make a platform anyone actually wants to vote for? Then you could win legitimately, for once."

This indeed is suppression.
It was 2016 🤢
will be one of the very first issues that they will remedy....
If we can hold the Senate...it will be a lot easier....

It's amazing how fast people memory-holed Hillary Clinton saying the election was about the courts (she's vote shaming!)

US has a long history of laws and measures trying to PREVENT people from voting, hence this kind of nonsense 🙃

this isn't limited to OH.
While my legs are having fierce muscle spasms, I am cursing state officials who thought it was appropriate to have one early voting center per county--regardless of population number.
Now if we could fix the gerrymandering and have same day registration, we might see real change.
Would hope that this would be everyone's experience.
This reminds me of some of the stuff that use to go down in Wisconsin.
The closest to a legitimate win the GOP have had since the fall of the Berlin Wall and it arguably still wasn't legitimate.
And Brad Raffensberger, to be fair to both sides of the aisle.
Amazing how many ways the Republican Party has succeeded in stopping Americans from voting.
Of all the places I've lived, WA is the only one which does it right.
And PA downright seems to hate voters.
When I did early voting this year, the map showed dozens of locations in my borough alone, and all but one had wait times of 20 minutes or less. Plus anyone can vote by mail now.
The last time I voted on election day in person was 2014.
Having experienced WA's mail only voting process now for over 8 years, I can confidently say that any other process is deliberate vote suppression.
And they offer a website that allows me to track the status of my ballot. I knew several days after I sent it that it was good.
No lines. No bullshit. It's like they actually want everyone who is eligible to vote.
So, if we know where the polling places are, what are the nearest pizza places so we can get food to the people in those lines?
And water??
But Republicans unlawfully blocked it from advancing in time for the 2024 ballot, so now it must wait until 2025 or later
And all of those need to be whipped (the technical term) to realize that they don't get to fucking play footsie like Machin and Sinema did, if they want the party to back them.
You have like 20 precincts in town on Election Day and on early voting site
Sometimes there's a line just to park.
That's the Ohio GOP. They're monstrous.
Republicans in Texas haven't even done this to us (yet.)
