Luigi Mangione posted online about having spondylolisthesis, a spinal condition that can be extremely painful and debilitating. I talked to other people with the disorder about how hard it is to get proper treatment within the U.S. healthcare system:

Whatever help people think is available, what's actually there might, MIGHT, keep you out of hell proper, but you'll still be roasting over it.
I was given 13 epidurals to try to make the pain go away. Apparently, that wasn’t good for me.
I have had pain for 30 years…I use MJ for pain.
Luigi is right. It’s debilitating pain.
Enough to make you crazy.
do i think its an excuse for murder ? no....
After four years of PT and steroid shots I got radio ablation. They cook the nerves sous vide with an antenna shaped kind of like the wires that hold multiple fishing lures in array.
It numbed about 85%. I can put my shoes on. Lost 50 lbs, Wegovy. My children say I am nice again.
I can't imagine how much more painful a slipped vertebrae is.
Literally every other developed country in the world has figured out Medicare for all!
Maybe if the billionaires would start paying their fair share in taxes, we too could have nice things.

“This is not to say that an act of violence is justified, but I think for anyone who is confused or shocked or appalled, they need to understand that ppl interpret and feel & experience denied claims as an act of violence...”
No paywall
The question I have though (and it’s just a question), is if democracy is under threat and there’s a very important article that can illuminate that fact, shouldn’t said article be publicly available rather than paywall? Especially if people are saying “this is a must read”.
I’m not advocating for journalist to not get paid. I’m simply saying that I have a hard time reconciling “we’re on the brink of fascism” with “this particular article is a must read because it illuminates the fascist threat but it’s paywalled”
