Unfortunately, new england had a ton of racists when I grew up there, and still does.

There’s a cohort of people who excitedly think that Trump is going to rid the country of non-white people, or at least make them live under sufferance.
It makes it all the more surreal to hear about Trump’s inroads with non-white voters.
That's part of the reason you want to try to engage the racist's target as if they're your friend.
Escalate if the racist keeps escalating.
Get people together and just practice practice practice.
