I'll be disappointed in every single one until they announce a game that has the first 5-6 regions in it (similar to gen 2). I'd pay $200 for it, who wouldn't?
Im just glad weve had a game in development longer and not being rushed out to advertise merch for TPC for once. It’ll be nice to see Gamefreak given a proper schedule for a 3D game and what they can do when its not having to meet a hard street date for plushies and trading cards.
most of them can actually be transferred out to atleast one switch game. Kinda goofy the remaining ones are just these, so close, but maybe z-a gets them all
Yeah. Im not expecting anything super big tbh aside from possible PLZ-A news, but I really hope there is some news that's actually hype and not just some mobile game updates and merch drop announcements.
Legends Arceus was a breath of fresh air. If they make a new one that has a greater focus on trainer battles and more RPG elements it would be amazing.
Same. I have stopped playing after PLA, which I probably would have skipped If it wasn't for the refreshing gameplay changes. Ever since the switch to full 3D graphics it felt like they put less soul/effort in with every new game.
Let's hope this time we get something more than just mobile games.
Pokémon going through their little mobile micro obsession era is a bummer but I’m excited for ZA, love arceus despite a few shortcomings and I think ZA will be an overall improvement on that.
I legitimately didn't even intend to try and bait lmao I just get joy out of personal projects. Here's some of the fakemon I've made over the last month, though!
One of the best parts for me about Shadow was watching new players to the series become fans in real-time. Seeing them restart a level saying “I can do better” felt so good
Sonic hasn’t had that magic in years, and achieved it with good design fundamentals and not just spectacle
i think Sword and Shield was the last time i was super hyped for anything pokémon. hoping the switch 2 allows for the games to finally be the quality they should’ve been in 3D
I'm hoping for a Legends Z-A release date. Legends Arceus was one of the best pokemon titles in decades and I'm really looking forward to a return to Kalos in that format.
I would also like to a see a BW/2 remake but BDSP has shaken my confidence in the likelihood of them doing it right.
I agree, Pokémon needs a jolt of energy and effort put into the next games or it’s going to be really disappointing. The crazy thing is the newest games always sell like crazy so there’s no downward trend in sales to pressure GameFreak to do better…
Well I think a lot of us were hoping for a more survival like game like Arceus, with aggressive pokemon like before, nice art and more to explore than just the city. We got a scarlet violet game with you now able to move
Why would there be aggressive Pokémon roaming the streets of the largest city in the region?
The whole idea of Arceus wasn't to make you like the idea of Pokémon hunting people lol. The entire story was precisely that humans were still slowly learning to coexist. And now they do!
I don't think I'd call it "SV with you now able to move"
It missing the bit of the Survival aspect is a bit dissappointing, but I think Arceus' main appeal was more the exploration and discovery which looks like to be still be intact in Z-A.
agreed. Z-A looks fine. pretty lame that it seemingly takes place in a single location. the graphics are better than SV, but still pretty crappy for the largest media franchise in existence. the new combat system looks like literally any other action jrpg from the past two decades.
So is "Pokémon Champions" supposed to be like the old Stadium games, but only if you have access to Home? That's kinda stupid.
Also, the TCGP update was okay, but man, I just could not bring myself to care. And of course Water decks are gonna be even more busted now (saw a few leaked promos).
You know... if Nintendo focused more on making their Pokemon games better rather then trying to sue the everloving shit outta everyone who so much as resembles their IP, maybe we'd get a Pokemon game again this century
Honestly, I just wanted some Z-A news so I completely dodged all the phone things
And Z-A... Looks fine? Nothing too exciting either but still glad they are trying to evolve the battle system in some ways?
yeah it looks cool but it also looks rough as hell and we didnt really see all that much. I was hoping it might look better visually with the longer dev cycle and potentially be for switch 2
Maybe at least thanks to the longer dev it won't have as much frame rate problems and bugs ^^"?
I didn't hope much for the Switch 2. I prefer they focus on the first Switch for Legends Z-A and for the Switch 2, focus on the 10th gen
Honestly curious about the wild areas if there's a chance they are just as vicious as the previous Legends games. If there's urban developments, there's a chance buildings and roads might get destroyed during the battles especially with mega evolution.
The combat system changes don't interest me at all. A fully urban environment feels like it's gonna be pretty dull to look at constantly. The only thing that had me go "oh neat" were the Gen 2 starters. The rest was meh at best.
Honestly, the first time I'm not excited for a new Pokemon game.
I mean I’m happy it was just Z-A news. I’m glad they didn’t show anything for Gen 10. Meaning it’s not coming out this year. Which means they’re actually taking their time with a game for the first time in years
Personally ZA has me hyped since Arceus is easily my favorite pokemon game and I love how they are kinda flipping it (humans in a pokemon world trying to coexist to pokemon in a human world trying to coexist) but I do get the feeling, the rest of the reveals were meh at best.
Champions could be good, if the cross-platform works and it evokes that Stadium/Colleseum vibe, Legends ZA looks super fun, and Mega Evolution is back too, and for the TCG!
That’s just the first half of the direct!
I’m feasting on this, and real interested in new Mega EXs for my Safari Game!
"Pokemon will announce giving the License to Level-5, makers of Dragon Quest 8, Professor Layton, and No No Kuni. We give up and will let a talented company have some creative control"
The lagginess and emptiness of Sword and Shield so thoroughly ruined it for me — I really really hope they start making compelling things again ;; I want a good Pokémon game with an actual story
Scarlet and Violet have easily the best story in the games, low bar I know. It does have a really great ending, not just good for a pokemon game but like actually good.
Agreed. I haven't afforded the DLCs but the main story was really emotional and the sidestories made me care for characters I didn't even like at first.
Yee, I couldn't get myself past the performance issues, maybe I should. My fiance loved playing the Arceus game for its gameplay loop, but it looked SOOO empty and muddy? I guess I'm a graphics girly 😭

I just hope the new people have simpler designs and that theirs a way to get my old mons out of Pokémon Bank…
Let's hope this time we get something more than just mobile games.
At least Shadow was an impressive title without any caveats, basically Frontiers’ strengths but combined with what used to be great about the series
One of the best parts for me about Shadow was watching new players to the series become fans in real-time. Seeing them restart a level saying “I can do better” felt so good

Gonna wait on more footage, but yeah, this ain't looking too good.
theres something about the older pokemon that had that "go out back and catch bugs" vibe that i dont really feel anymore
Looks like a decent update on the Legends Gameplay style for the most part.
The whole idea of Arceus wasn't to make you like the idea of Pokémon hunting people lol. The entire story was precisely that humans were still slowly learning to coexist. And now they do!

Even if every year it leaves me disappointed
At least this time we are pretty sure to get more info about Z-A
Also, the TCGP update was okay, but man, I just could not bring myself to care. And of course Water decks are gonna be even more busted now (saw a few leaked promos).
Means more surprises for the best one
And Z-A... Looks fine? Nothing too exciting either but still glad they are trying to evolve the battle system in some ways?

Honestly, the first time I'm not excited for a new Pokemon game.
At this rate, I'm convinced they'll never do that. They've had plenty of opportunities to do it, and they just won't for some reason..
That could just be wishful thinking on my part though.
mostly to confirm it's made with the new hardware in mind
That’s just the first half of the direct!
I’m feasting on this, and real interested in new Mega EXs for my Safari Game!
I'm just foolin
I mean this in a good way! This game made me cry!
