And then enjoyed Twilight 1 and 2 way more than I thought and probably also should!
It's a fun movie, but the first two were better. The concept of Bartertown and the Thunderdome is really cool. Also, I wanted to see more of Tina Turner's character.
Midnight Cowboy was so much more queer than I was expecting, both content-wise & formally. I always thought it was like Easy Rider or something. Pandora’s Box was incredible, loved its proto-noir final act. Anger was so fun w/magickal collage. Companion — started out fun, then became a bit of a slog
Yes! As soon as I read about the story behind that (and the subsequent lawsuit,) I had to go watch A Fistful of Dollars, and WOW, as plagiarism goes, it’s not even subtle!
Out of those, I’ve only seen Throne of Blood so far. I went back to the beginning and was trying to jump around some of the non-Kurosawa work for variety of direction. 😅
I had wanted to see The Innocents when it came out, but I never got around to it. I’m so glad I watched it at home instead because it was horrific & it fucked me up.

Giant was a very rare walkout for me. There were no subtitles and after about 30 minutes of struggling with the Texan accents, I decided to skip the other 3 hours and watch another time, with subtitles.
Bit ashamed to admit it but my Bong Joon-ho watch is not going well. I liked Snowpiercer, Parasite, and Mickey 17 quite a bit, but his early works aren't doing it for me. Credit this to my uncultured American brain, I guess lol https://boxd.it/6x3Ud
