For creatures that can fly they spend a lot of time moseying around on the ground. I say look deeply into that mirror, my little chickadee, before casting any thistle.
I read a fantasy novel in which the human suddenly could converse with animals. He asks a bird why they don't fly everywhere. The bird replies, "Because it's exhausting! You humans can run, right? Why don't you run everywhere?" and that totally changed my perspective.
I was scolding a seagull this morning for snaffling the crows food. He'd already been fed. The little guy sassed me right back! Then to prove his point flew away and came back to dive bomb the crow.
I was on a plane once with someone who had a conure (I think) in a cage with them. How weird it must have felt to that bird to be flown instead of flying!
Can’t blame them for being judgy if they are, whenever I see one hopping away from something rather than fly I think they look silly and am absolutely judging them.
