or alternatively when you're playing a horror game and suddenly get given a crapton of ammo and medical supplies before you enter a room with a major character who may or may not be about to get brutally murdered
Kinda unrelated but it reminded me of when this one older horror game was so badly optimised that whenever you were close an enemy, the game struggled to render it so badly the fps would drop by half, so all the suspence was just gone instantly xD
I was streaming my first ever playthrough of Half-Life 1 to my friend last night. Cue autosave, suddenly see a bunch of health pickups and cover and I say to him, “There’s gonna be a fight here isn’t there?” Not one second later I start getting shot at XD
I hate when you have a branching path and you cannot go back. One has some dope loot, the other instantly locks the door and you cannot turn back due to story. Well, time to reset I guess to see what it was i was missing 🫠
Yeah well I remember the games that didn't auto save and that was more of a piss off and disrespectful I don't understand how you claim it to be disrespectful it makes no sense
This "feature" was often mandated by management who actually played the games when I was in the biz, because they got tired of having to replay "boring" sections instead of doing a quicksave manually.
They also had a tendency to always turn right at every intersection and get lost in a loop.
you've had an inky feeling for a few minutes now, and your heartrate has already increased. you're actually surprised there have not been any jump scares yet...
Aye. That's a blessing. You know how many times I died on a boss and was like, "dang it! I forgot to save before this. Now I gotta come all the way back".
Gamefucious say, "save, and save often".
Now I hit quick save just to make sure I quick saved lol
yeah it's a pretty big telegraph and kind of ruins the surprise of the game. Autosaves should only happen between levels or checkpoints not right before boss battles.
or when a room gives you two health items and you just know it's not gonna be enough also how does a bento box heal you from a katana I'm talking to you Yakuza
I have such a fear of this that I over level. I'm up in a game one day and already got 2 weeks worth of levels before I go walking about. Being caught off guard by a level 50 monster when I am only level 2 scares the frick out of me.
I think I don't play games right 😂
Here's hoping there's not a locked door behind, and an unskippable Kojima cutscene to come followed by an encounter of From Software make.
That would be the unholy trinity of game-rage.
You ever get stuck in a death loop in Skyrim where the only thing in your way is the limbo of repeating your death hundreds of times until your twelve year old brain finally conjures up a solution?
So True, 🤣, like looking for dragon in a cave, cut to viewpoint from the floor and not knowing what just killed you, but knowing you probably found what you are looking for, or something worse.😱
Actually I know what's more disrespectful: entering an empty room then seeing an achievement popup in the corner with something like "enter the demon's secret asshole for the first time" totally spoiling the next scene.

Game: he definitely doesn't got this.
No such luck 😬

"Oh, you don't have that? You should've picked it up 2 hours ago! It was right there, how did you miss it?"

"I know you better thn You do"
*autosaves*
"bitch u ratchet ass game"

It changes a man
You know you're in trouble when you come across a load of free ammo and med supplies just hanging out, looking all innocent
Yes. It’s always an arena. Lol!
