*pssssst*
Hey
You know that one project?
That one you've wanted to write FOREVER except it's scary as hell & maybe you don't feel good
enough or brave enough or strong enough?
Spend 15 min on it today
Keep the dream alive
Even a pot on the back burner needs to occasionally be stirred

Man.. I fucking love that.
Perhaps tomorrow night if I can I'll work on my scifi portal fantasy.
I've been doing a lot around the house and it's draining my energy that creativity doesn't have room.
I need to jump back in.
Thank you ♥️
Plus each day builds a habit.
And the start is always the most difficult part. Say 15min and you might end up doing more!
Trust me, this thing may never see the light of day, but damn it, I'm writing it.
I still have my notes and ideas but it's bits and pieces, nothing concrete. It might be nice to get back to it, also scary, but also nice.
*stomps off to write something before bed*
(And please hopefully note the humor intended here)
Guess I still need to figure this thing out more!
it's not like you've hit your peak and can never improve!
you can even come back to a trunked manuscript once you've leveled up and revise it -- that's what I got my first agent with
Lovely post though <3
Currently working on a documentary film about systemic racism in the United States called Pushing The Rock.
wanna know what my degree's in?
Public health
yeah, we're talking epidemiology models, infectious disease briefs, chronic health intervention proposals, comms, etc
the last time I took a writing class period was management comms jr year of college
everything I learned about publishing came from taking advantage of the non-academic resources around me and reading/analyzing a shitton of books
but anyone who tells you that they're mandatory for a writing career is outright wrong
there are SO many ways to learn
find the ones that work for you, and don't be intimidated by one-size-fits-all advice
And if 15 minutes is too scary, do 5 minutes.
Tiny time text tidbits, lots of them because you kept doing them, all in a row…
…is a book.
Seriously 💜
What if I'm not any good at storytelling?
I have read most of that and have no desire to see anymore of it, but I do have a few projects around here that need tackling. 😀
I don't know if I'm ready for that yet. But I appreciate your boundless optimism.
I have no idea what you’re talking about
I’ve been pushing back a book idea I have. You’ve reminded me to keep pushing! ♥️
thanks!
I'm a recovering perfectionist and I've learned over the years that I can't perfect something that isn't yet on paper!
Just give it a shot -- you might surprise yourself
Being precise, choosing words carefully - that skill carries over. If you write scientific articles, you're used to *finishing* things - and that's half the battle. Give it a go.
It's scary as hell
It's gonna stay in my head til I'm finished with a couple painting projects
Writing is incredibly scary!
Thanks for the push!
