Literary fiction/retellings of clasics--James by Percival Everett, Unwieldy Creatures by Addie Tsai
Make you cry--More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera
Lapvona-Ottessa Moshfegh: set in a fictional medieval feifdom, horrible things continue to happen to horrible people. Not quite horror, but the characters are grotesque
Brother-Ania Ahlborne: adopted son rejects his murderous family.
My Best Friendβs Exorcism-Grady Hendrix: reads like an 80s slasher movie. Itβs a blast.

Her invitation and experience at the eccentric benefactorβs estate! So bizarre and synchronistic.
The Midnight Library was one of my favorite books I read this year!

I wish I could give you recs but I'm looking for some myself haha
And if you want (I think 9 or 10) YA fantasy, the Young Wizards series by Diane Duane.
Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane is the current read. It's great so far!
Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman is also really good.
All the Brandon Sanderson...
It's one of the only series that has made me enjoy footnotes as much as the actual plotline.
It's based on mages in the UK summoning/enslaving spirits to do their bidding- and a kid starting on this path summons a particularly sarcastic and clever one (Bart).
We do not want to lose any of the indie authors we've come to discover and support.

I've had a women's hockey obsession this year, but if I'm watching NFL, they're my team too ππππ
Iβm making it my mission to be a better fan of womenβs sports in 2025.

What genre are you looking for? I mostly read thrillers, horror and some sci-fi (and the occasional spicy) but Iβm trying to branch out

Did he make America great again?
The trigger warning list for Butcher & Blackbird made me laugh very hard. Doubly funny to reread it after you finish the book. I hope you enjoy!
Old book, still one of the most memorable I've ever read (3 times now).

I'm currently reading The Poppy War. It's very popular fantasy book. What got me to buy it now is the Barnes and Noble special illustrated edition that's out right now. I'm a sucker for a beautiful book.
Reading Somewhere beyond the sea.
Another I loved was the writings of Graeme Simsion. I must believe that anything is possible, hope is a wonderful thing. Don tillman went on a journey and made magic in his life.

Read all you want here, fiction, non-fiction.
Of course, tastes differ. I'm old and I and other readers can relate to the times she lived in. But also read her sexual obsession books. Losing Myself.
The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison, The Parable of the Sower by Octavia E Butler, Son of Patricia by Trevor Noah, GIrls That Invest by Simran Kaur, The Folk of Air Series by Holly Black, and Animal Farm by George Orwell.
