The biggest challenge I've faced since November is communicating the severity of Trump's policies to liberal friends who don't pay close attention to the news.
They simply do not believe me about his plans for tariffs and deportations, or what red states are doing on abortion. They actually laugh.

Not feeling a lot of sympathy here.
Sincerely asking and wondering - what can anyone do about it now?
In the last 8 years people have marched, boycotted, got loud on social media, gave A LOT of $$ and time and democrats are in a worse position than 2016.

I just don't understand humanity anymore. There is a collective apathy that is going to be fatal. 🤬
Yes they plan on deportations and worse this graph and description of this company are proof.
You read the NYT and fancy yourself a man of the world? Guess what, everything you “know” is filtered through a pro-oligarchy/fascism cheesecloth
I had to go down a whole list of lawsuits, threats, and a belief no one will stop him from acting on his threats
It's like watching everyone blindfolded and walking off a freaking cliff.
But you'd hope that folks who voted against him would take him seriously. I'm at a loss here.
Basically, what's coming is so horrifying, even many of the good guys are tuning out, resorting to wishing & hoping, like little kids do.
Hope they'll wake up when the sh*t flies into their mouths.
"Trump serious about tariffs and deportations. The data is clear here, if he does this, it will crash the economy. Make sure you have liquid cash, just in case."
"Nick, he's not serious. Besides, our industries are insulated. We're fine."
Friends told me I was dumb for worrying about my sister's wellbeing in red states. I reject that.
Anyway, today he got into a blue state program. Big sigh of relief.
With all due respect, those liberals are ignorant AF. And privileged as hell.
The real divide is between people (on either side) who think politics matter & those who don’t.
The fact that they've refused to look at reality SINCE 2016, however, is an indictment of their privilege for sure tho.
The 737 has flown into the tower but the manager says it is ok and everyone is at their desks working. Must be OK.
That said, my 83 year old mom in Kentucky explicitly said we shouldn't visit if that happens.
Maybe it’s just differing samples? You hang out with normal people and I hang with political junkies?
🙈🙉🙊
The crazy bills in statutes that violate constitutional Rights of women and minorities
It’s so strange to me.
The cooler messaging medium is owned by the right. And that medium gets default treatment as objective truth…
It doesn’t matter if it is factual nonsense and actual propaganda… People agree it’s the standard, and the argument ends.
Explaining to otherwise rational people why not voting is insane was surreal. TikTok/IG brainwashed them into being Biden haters, now we have Trump.
Reeks of privilege, they don’t need to actually do anything to help all the people they claim to care about. Gaza is the perfect example.
I think a lot of this stems from the Republican-friendly legacy media they consume. But also, there are just a lot of Democratic voters who don't care that much or even prefer a more conservative party.
we recently elected a governor with a horrific record on pretty much everything, so its only gonna get worse, too.
Only consistent is the corruption.
