and writing ability too
you can see it because you'll read a straightforward interpretation of someone's words back at them and they'll immediately reply "I didn't say that" no matter how accurate it was.
I chose a wonderful time to go back to college. Panic attacks every week. Prospective field may be gone. Reading the book is pretty difficult and Bobbie reading is out of the question.
Not sure what you’re getting at with this post, Robert. I was too busy listening to a podcast by someone who does coke regularly with Joe Rogan who is unfamiliar with how public safety nets work…
An interesting BtB would be the people who totally fucked US reading education in the latter 20th century (i.e. the advocates of "whole-language theory") - an issue we're only now just starting to fix! A good example of people who did terrible things without themselves being evil.
I think expecting people to infer reasonable context beyond the content of a social media post can uh, conflict with the nature of it being a social media post.
I genuinely think being struck with illiteracy would leave a non-zero percentage of people better informed given how they currently engage with information.
As a person who taught high school, it's rough out here fam. You have to fight to teach a curriculum that enforces critical reading comprehension, and if you fight to improve things you sometimes get let go
Currently a student teacher in a high school. Almost none of the kids read for fun, which is definitely part of the problem. But we also have a ton of ELL students who don't have enough support. We have a great team, but they're spread too thin.
One of my favorite comments about this is “reading comprehension on this website is piss poor” and someone responded “how dare you say we piss on the poor” and that is now my shorthand for it.
I have the attention span of a golden retriever these days and even I am constantly baffled and enraged by it. I can't imagine what it's like for someone who still has a functioning brain.
My read on the reaction to your posts yesterday is different. I think your intuition is telling you that the protests yesterday were fundamentally “establishment,” protests. Your post made people uncomfortable because they don’t want to think about getting worse.
(Things getting worse…autocorrect). The protest yesterday was organized by indivisible, a very old school and centrist / center left coalition. I speculate that the high turn out yesterday was largely driven by the previous days stock market crash.
Going to cut in here to say yes, obviously this was driven by the establishment organizations.
I think it’s a bit of an own goal on their part tho. They set this up before tariffs now a bunch of new people are comfortable going to a protest months before unemployment will hit 30%+.
Lets get weird
I don’t think we can say unemployment will go to 30%, historically fascists juice up rearmament and create blow out economies building tanks. The SP500 could go to 7000. Then we will be very “indivisible,” as a country, indivisibleness goal technically achieved.
following smoot-hawley unemployment hit 20-30% and they didn’t even have the boondoggle of globalized supply lines that act to compound the tariffs each hop down chain. Container ships weren’t a thing yet, trade was totally different.
Smoot Hawley would have been like if Trump tariffs were imposed in early 2009. We’re not that economically fragile. They may go back on certain tariffs tomorrow morning. We just don’t know. I don’t think they have a playbook I think they are incompetent and just doing shit.
Not while you did mention that protesting in general is good at the top of your post and to create a large change, clearly a broad coalition will be necessary, the crux of your post was clear. Centrists will not lead I continued to fight most likely.
Sorry, horrible writing due to AutoCorrect. What I’m trying to say is much like Christopher Hitchens said politics by its very definition is about division. Indivisible wow a valued group will not fight against establishment politics.
i still cant read or write because (insert tangent that has nothing to do with what you originally posted) and that's why we all need to go vegan or die
He wrote a post about how people are misrepresenting the results of the protests in South Korea, and people are screaming about how he's insulted the protests in the US, which is not even remotely what he said. Now people are acting butthurt because they embarrassed themselves.
I blame the fact that schools just have kids read a couple pages of a book from a shit textbook rather than a full book. Now even people in college can't read a full book or write an essay. Things like chatGPT are definitely exacerbating the issue.
What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I'm the top sniper in the entire
It's people like Robert that want to make reading woke and also the implication that homeschooling is communist, which the Lord finds super offensive. Wtf Robert!
Your guests don't even read the 27 books you read about the subject, it's embarrassing, they're just like "oh damn!" and "wow I never knew much about Belgium"

Another thing we have to fund and fix.
But my whole personality around negative polarization? Woo boy that’s where I’m a Viking.

A lot of people I deal with in this town read with their finger.
I generally don’t talk to people because of it.
Be serious.
Oh wait I -

(Cf. The Spanish word for "fighter" is "guerrilla.")
Izat Hawaiian..?
But we’re clean on OPSEC
At worst it's the lowest in recorded history.
