Jamelle, I knew one of the real original leaders of the "Dirty Dozen." They were actually British SOE. Follow me here so you can DM me and I will tell you more. Cheers and all best wishes,
Selene
Absolutely the best.
Although Donal Sutherland is hilarious at the chateau.
Always felt bad that Trini Lopez died early & off screen as his family was from Guanajuato as my grandparents were. Then I read that he was killed off early because he was a pain on set. Burst the bubble of pride.
Every beat is not wasted. You really do understand why these guys are in prison and how thery are a problem. Telly Savalas crushing it as a psycho and the idea of the film is we don't care if they are. Also Robert Ryan, a national treasure.
Meet Richard Jaeckel in '76 when he was making "Day of the Animals", which was shot on location in Tuolumne County. I was on a USFS Helitack crew & they rented our helicopter when it was off contract with us.
hadn't seen it in years then came across it a couple weeks ago on late-night cable and told myself, no, don't get started. 3 hours later, total satisfaction
Insane cast all around but bro, Clint Walker was one hunk of dude. Recently watched him in a pretty decent western called Night of the Grizzly. Just look at this dude
He’s a little flat, but I can’t understand why he didn’t have a bigger movie career. I understand the barriers between TV and the movies were far less porous back then, but Clint and some others did it in Westerns
I remember watching it as a kid when it came out in the late 1960s.
Bronson, Savalas, Borgnine, Sutherland, Lee Marvin and more.
Bad guys gone good, sent on a suicide mission to help make D-Day the victory the Allies desperately needed to open a 2nd Front and defeat the Axis Nazis.
I saw Jim Brown hobbling at the San Francisco airport 10 years ago. As a kid, I had his Cleveland Browns poster on my wall in the 50s. I helped him with his luggage, same flight to Cleveland. Poor guy. Back pain was intense. Great movie.

Only recently saw Bronson's 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙘 for the first time. Had thought befere it was only a Depardieu film. Both good versions!

Uh, thought experiment à la the dirty dozen.
Soldier: Madison City, Missouri, sir!
Pinkley: Never heard of it.
