We were discussing Greenland, unrelated the Trump, the other day and there's just 60,000 people there. Which means you probably can't have many more living people there. But looking at a map, I can imagine a really dumb guy wanting to deport millions sees that and thinks "now there's an idea!"

The arctic has a lot of oil under a lot of ice. If the thinking is “let’s let climate change melt the ice, and then get the oil, and then terraform the atmosphere if we need to after that…” then Greenland starts looking pretty nice as a place to set up giant refineries and the like

I am a Danish person living in Denmark, not a shocked US lib. This is terrifying shit, yes, but the US will not just take Greenland. At most they'll get to set up another base and pretend that's what they wanted all along. Greenland is an autonomous territory of Denmark, part of both the EU and NATO

I don’t have a clue but you can bet no matter what the top line is, the bottom line has some big money in it for Trump. A real estate deal, a favor for Putin, a winter resort who the hell knows but you can bet there is a bottom line with Trump enriching himself!
