I remember 2005. Repubs declared they had 'a permanent majority' and acted like it.
By 2008, Dems had wiped Repubs completely out of power because Repubs just can't help but destroy our economy and massively overstep in their abuse of power.
Really? I wondered where on earth this was and what dumbass would think this was a smart & needed idea.
Thank you for the content and information. Our government is so beyond messed up.
We live in a timeline where drinking tap water is controversial, but magic underwear is a strategic defense system. Civilization is just a speedrun to the Dark Ages at this point
No, kids in Oregon have lower rates of cavities than many states that use fluoride and btw, our pets do NOT need fluoride, one of the side effects of wholesale inclusion of this industrial chemical.
Idk I'm a fan of unsupplemented clean drinking water, and i am a scientist. Of course, it'd be nice if there were other ways to ensure everyone got their fluoride.
I was born in Texas in the 60s, where there was no fluoride in the water there. My mother gave me only bottled water with fluoride because all of the kids she saw had rotting and brown teeth. I’m 62 now with perfect teeth. Wake up Utah.
Obviously not. I live in Utah and there are more children than adults here. Governor Cox has taken some MAGA cult pills or drank some Koolaid. So disappointing.
This does not apply to the children of those voting to eliminate fluoride.
Their children will receive the best dental care, including fluoride treatments, vaccinations and excellent educations.
I mean, given how shit most private schools are, how propagandized they want even the elite to be, and how little they actually care about educating their own kids?
It’s a nuanced topic. Kind of shocked how people see it as a “yay” or “nay” rather than “how much”. Nobody drinks tap water to replace toothpaste. In the reality of a parent not caring to buy toothpaste, perhaps this naturally mineral makes all the difference. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/000294165590066X
Is this an attempt to lure more dentists to Utah because there will be more work, or an attempt to drive them away because these people are to stupid, stupid, stupid?
My dad was a dentist and pushed hard for fluoride in our area in CA. His purpose was to prevent kids from losing teeth. He had gone into dentistry because his parents lost all or most of their teeth very early in life.
Look this is dumb. Nobody needs teeth. Just get them removed and get those fake teeth and we'll all be good. 🙄. I think you can, actually if you listen hard enough, you can actually hear my eyes roll.
Seriously. They've already tried this in places and then REVERSED IT because it caused so much damage. The bigger health threat in Utah is inbreeding. Not fluoride.
We don't have a ban in Portland. We just don't have fluoridated water. And it sucks. I'm hoping we can use resistance to Trump to finally get it in place.
Mormons are against good teeth? Fluoride has been in the water for decades. Removing it accomplishes what exactly? Is there like a Mormons against fluoride group?
Not inherently, there's just a lot of crossbreeding with the New Age anti vaxers and religious nut peppers, especially since Latter Day Saints means Post Apocolipse Saints
Oregon has never put fluoride in our water and no our teeth aren’t falling out and there are not higher rates of cavities in our kids’ teeth. AND, btw, our birds, pets and wildlife are safer because of this policy.
There will probably be people saying there is a dental health problem in Portland but I would like to point out that is likely due to lack of access to housing/hygiene and also drug abuse. Fluoride can’t fix those things.
I was raised in WA state where there is no fluoride in the water and I never had cavities until adulthood when I went through a major depression and wasn’t eating enough and dental hygiene was tough. Studies have shown access to dental hygiene is way more effective than fluoridating water cont…
Drinking fluoride doesn’t even make sense given there are side effects, when you could just use topical or, idk, regulate health insurance so dental insurance actually covers things. Add dental hygiene to public health outreach programs etc. Fluoride is the cheap lazy way of addressing dental health
Of course that would require the government to actually do the harder parts that work better which they probably also won’t do but we should stop pretending drinking a chemical not meant for consumption is the real savior here.
Just think what it does to wildlife and birds, or even cats and dogs to invariably end up drinking it. They don’t have a choice (of course neither do the rest of us who drink unfiltered water).
I am old enough to remember that during the 1950s and 1960s, conspiracy theorists baselessly claimed that fluoridation was a communist plot to undermine American public health. So, I would think these red states would embrace fluoride.
Individual consumers have always been able to filter their water.
The reason the public policy is in place is because children are not always taken care of by their parents, and this particular additive is either harmless or helpful.
Because only the “individual choice” of religious zealots *throwing* stones, not that of any scapegoat being stoned, matters. Didn’t they teach you that in Deuteronomistic “morality” class?
And vice versa. My body my choice. So don’t put industrial waste flouride in my water supply. I don’t want it. If you want it you have toothpaste with flouride in it. Your dentist can give you and children flouride treatments too.
Anti science dip shits like you are doing away with one of the unalloyed good public health achievements that has been helping people for the past 75 years. We know it is safe. Lots of people never learned good hygiene and pass that ignorance on to their children. Those are the people that you harm.
We have 75 years of experience demonstrating its safety. This movement makes as much sense as the anti vax bullshit and the climate change denying bullshit.
That’s where we are in America. Too many people either stayed home or let themselves be duped by misinformation. When they find themselves at the dentist more often with larger bills, maybe they’ll remember why Fluoride was added to water in the first place.
I’m not sure whether this is a benefit or harm.. there has been ample discussion on both sides regarding the addition or exclusion of fluoride, with positive and negative commentary alike.
Agreed. I will add I have used fluoride free toothpaste for decades and have zero cavities or gum problems. My brother uses fluoride toothpaste and has a mouthful of cavities and other issues. I think some of it is diet related, and some of it may be genetic.
Yeah.. my point is I simply don’t know.. it was in water when I was in the US. I never gave it much thought any more than I do taking a vitamin - not sure if it is doing good but took it anyway. Now in EU it’s a non-issue & people have beautiful teeth! So, maybe ongoing research will provide more.
Yea honestly I don't think this is something worth fighting over. While flouride is beneficial for dental health, it is more effective when applied topically (eg in toothpaste). Since it can be unhealthy when too much is ingested, it seems like shifting to use flouridated toothpaste instead is good.
Actually, that isn't true. If fluoride is given systemically to children when their teeth are developing, the teeth develop stronger and more cavity resistant. It is a lifelong benefit. This is a BIG deal and a bad move.
(dental hygienist 42 years)
Oh cool - I'm sure you know much more about it than me. When this became an issue in the news, I read several NIH papers, and I thought all of them were consistent with what I shared. Can you help me understand which part of my comment was incorrect? (What you said doesn't directly contradict it.)
republican sadism isn't satsified with red states and counties having higher death rates than blue states and counties, they need to ensure there is more suffering than necessary before their constituents get to their earlier deaths.
republicansm = sadism; it's all about the cruelty.
BTW, the UTGOP is continually making sure that Utahns have to suffer from numerous forms of pollution because the fossil fuel companies keep paying them to undermine our DEQ.
And pride flags in government buildings and schools. How about we ban Mormonism instead? Exposing our kids to cults is not good for their mental or physical health!
"When you’re taking a patient’s history, you want to know why they have a lot of cavities,”... “Sometimes it’s, ‘We never had access to dentists,’ ‘My parents never took me to the dentist,’ or ‘I used to have an unhealthy diet.’ Or they’ll say, ‘I grew up in Portland.’"
Much empathy. Christian Nationalism is becoming more and more difficult to tell apart from even the most batshit throwback bloodthirsty control-freak jihadism.
Ex-mormon here. Mormons think they are absolutely a part of the movement. Which is funny because the rest of the Christian nationalists think Mormons aren't Christian at all. They think it's a cult....which is true.
This sounds like the beginning of a horror story where no matter how many times you throw them out or destroy them, they somehow keep reappearing in your underwear drawer.
Utah is getting worse and worse. If I weren’t so old and poor, I’d move. If Mike Lee gets voted back in, I might have to find a way. For that would prove just how stupid Utahns are 😬
I had to Google it but Mike Lee is still our senator right now.
Which is crazy as I watched him say his whole reason for being in government was to destroy social security.
And the dim bulbs on Social Security in Utah voted him into office.
I grew up in an era and a home without fluoride. I’m still paying the price with a mouth full of implants and crowns due to all the fillings I needed as a kid. My two children (now adults) grew up with fluoride and between the two of them have had one filling. Utah is making a mistake.
So stupid. I live in Park City.
And many kids live here in Utah with the Mormon population. And of course there is a Swig drink thing all over the place. Good think there’s a dentist office on every street corner.
As from Germany and living in Switzerland now where we don’t add fluoride (or chlorine) to our water I can tell we are totally fine without it.
You can get it over toothpaste and salt supplemented with fluoride and therefore can adjust the amount individually.
An important difference between the US and Germany / Switzerland is you have widely available health care (say nothing of quality of food). Nearly 70M people in the US don’t have dental insurance, further poor and marginalized communities will be impacted. https://www.cdc.gov/oral-health/health-equity/index.html
And FWIW I grew up in rural areas w well water that’s not fluoridated and was fortunate to live close enough to a populated area to get dental care and have parents that took me but that’s not a reality for many people in the US.
And yet, you deny the mountains of evidence that putting fluoride in the water is not safe. Further, you deny the fact that mass medication of people is illegal unless there is an imminent threat of widespread death. Maybe you need some valium in your water.
It is a natural occurring mineral. If you read the studies, the benefits were discovered because some areas were found to have higher natural fluoride in their water and the cavity rates were much reduced. Supplementing the water in areas without natural occuring fluoride has made a huge difference.
But also perhaps take some time to examine why you would call a stranger a stupid person and assume they were spreading lies? I think it’s probably time to log off, call your friends, and go bowling.
Many countries in Europe don't add fluoride to their water. The rate of caries in Europe and the US are not substantially different. Adding fluoride, which is intended as a medicine, to the drinking water is illegal because mass medication without consent is illegal.
The stupidity isn’t in the harm it does or does not do
The stupidity is that they’re doing it because they’ve been captured by conspiracy theorists who think fluoride is poison and that Measles is cured with cod liver oil
Calgary, Alberta(most conservative providence), Canada removed fluoride back in 2011. But that lasted a decade after people and doctors noticed an uptick in oral infections.
Obviously the research I meant to share was not shared correctly. Had an awful night saying goodbye to my best friend Zeus. This is the study I am referencing... https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9542152/
Fluoride seems to fit in with lead, mercury, and other poisons that cause chemical brain drain,” Grandjean says. “The effect of each toxicant may seem small, but the combined damage on a population scale can be serious...”
May 2024– A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association JAMA found that in fluoridated Los Angeles, the children of mothers with higher fluoride exposures during pregnancy had double the odds of several neurobehavioral problems
Fluoride is naturally occurring in our food. When I clicked on the link to the original article & read it + the comments…. JAMA Open- is not JAMA. I recommend reading their comments. Best wishes for you on your journey!
May 2024– A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association JAMA found that in fluoridated Los Angeles, the children of mothers with higher fluoride exposures during pregnancy had double the odds of several neurobehavioral problems
I’m not worried about my child drinking 7 gallons of water. I’m worried about them having brain developmental issues because of too much fluoride in the water.
Don’t get all tangled up in what ifs
And don’t trust the people that are testing your water too much
May 2024– A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association JAMA found that in fluoridated Los Angeles, the children of mothers with higher fluoride exposures during pregnancy had double the odds of several neurobehavioral problems
Yeah, leaving aside the automatic issues with using IQ testing as a measurement of intelligence across multiple cultures and age groups, even their methodology for using urine spot analysis to measure fluoride exposure has major problems. This meta-analysis analysis has too many problems.
No disrespect, BTW. Your suggestions sent me down a research rabbit hole for 2 hours, and I learned several new things. We are all intelligent and just trying to figure out what is best for our kids and for society as a whole.
Fluoride seems to fit in with lead, mercury, and other poisons that cause chemical brain drain,” Grandjean says. “The effect of each toxicant may seem small, but the combined damage on a population scale can be serious...”
A study published by JAMA Pediatrics in January did a review and meta-analysis of whether exposure to fluoride was associated with kids' IQ scores. The authors found that there is a link between slightly lower IQ in children that have more exposure to the mineral.
We all need to educate ourselves and not trust big Pharma
And if you think exposing developing brains to chemicals is smart, you go for it. YOU do what you want for YOUR kids, but don’t force MY kids to drink fluoride. It’s unnatural. It’s not healthy for their brains
Toothpaste doesn't have the same effect. Supplementary fluoride in water strengthens a child's adult teeth as they develop. All of this has been studied for decades. All of this RFK jr garbage is the "appeal to nature" fallacy.
I have a mouthful of dental work, always had problems, grew up on well water I just realized. My daughter grew up on city water with floride, she has hardly had a cavity. Hhhmmm...
Unless they are also giving free dental care, expanding dental checkups to 4 times a year, and taking measures to make flouride based toothpastes and mouthwashes more accessible and affordable they are going to see a massive increase in preventable illness and death.
I'm happy to see Sundance move away. This state is a GOP Theocratic shit hole with pretty red rocks that relies on tourists for a big chunk of its revenue. It will be a joyous day when I see it in my rear view for good.
It's interesting to me that all of the people who are arguing with me have not provided any papers, any science at all behind their claims that it's harmless. When I searched, none of the results came up as, sure, it's fine. I only put 'fluoride and the brain' in the search terms
I'm not so sure it's stupid. My unde is that Hitler was the first leader to fluoridate water, as it was thought to subdue the people and make them easier to manipulate. Is that just an urban myth? Do we know it doesn't have an effect on the brain? I got fluoride treatments at the dentist.
...finding that fluoride may act as a neurotoxicant during developmental periods.
... safe doses of fluoride may be below the currently recommended levels for most water supplies.
...found that males may be more affected by prenatal fluoride exposure.
Odd that you’d cite these findings about the massive amounts of fluoride (not used by any municipality) for neurotoxicity.
When researchers looked at water below 1.5 parts per million, there were no significant differences in IQ.” 7ppm is the standard. Very deceptive of you.
"Increased fluoride levels in tap water have been associated with increased ADHD clinical diagnoses and symptoms such as hyperactivity and inattention."
I didnt know that, it wasn't in any of the precis, but I'm sure the one regarding neonatal said it was with the levels in tap water. They all seemed to say more research needs to be done
Thank you. That's a good essay. I acknowledge it's scientific validity. On the other hand, it's not a "study". Since there are studies suggesting it may be harmful, we shouldn't bash Utah for not adding fluoride to their water. Is their water naturally high in fluoride? Maybe? More study is needed.
At 64, I still have no cavities. At 4 (plus) we had fluoridated water.
Let's hope they don't get a lazy textbook publisher in there trying to hawk 3.0 as thd value of pi. (that one actually came real close to happening, only a scientist happened to be passing by in the hallway.
Well, experience from other countries show that it's entirely possible to have clean teeth without chloride in tap water. I would pass on this battle. And honestly, US drinking water tastes like crap.
Are these other countries those with universal healthcare and tighter foid regulations and better access to healthy fiod (i.e., cheaper fresh foods and vegetables, less preservatives, less sugar and HFCS?
Utah is already chock full of dentists. Every dental school in America is full of assembly line BYU grads and their vapid wives, who are all selling MLM garbage and also trying to launch careers as influencers.
Oh, I wish my water had fluoride. I am currently getting my water from a well that pumps directly out of the river, and it's not even drinkable. Maybe I was spoiled with California water, but fluoride is why so many people keep their teeth their whole life.
God, it’s embarrassing to live here and they’ve just rescinded a vibrant and successful vote by mail program that has been in place forever. Just inane.
True to MAGA and MAHA. Now let's see what happens to children's teeth. Dentists across the country should speak loudly and frequently as to how unhealthy this will make children. Like with measles, our most vulnerable will be harmed. Atta Go Maggots!
I’m a nurse. I just had a patient with a terrible tooth infection who was admitted to hospital. Infection got into the bloodstream and caused vegetative growth on 2 heart valves. He’ll now be having heart surgery😕
That is correct and certainly a very important lesson most are not aware of. Chronic inflammation in one area of the body eventually effects all other systems of the body to varying degrees even across seemingly unrelated systems.
Moved here from Michigan where we were the first in the COUNTRY of the USA to have fluoride in the water! 💯
To PDX, with NO fluoride 😭, doesn’t make sense all cause of some “natural” people wanting “natural water” okay well hope you floss and brush cause cavities are “natural” then.
One just assumes people brush teeth, with a wide variety of paste, including straight up baking soda. All I know is the dentist is a very expensive place if you need work done. Also, top teeth abscesses can affect the brain, and lower teeth abscesses can affect the heart!
While dental hygiene in general is good, charcoal provides surface cleaning only, with no enamel strengthening. Also, the mouthwash appears to make no claims about protection against dental caries (which are caused by different bacteria than gingivitis).
I Got Some Mouth Wash, Last Month. It Has Zinc it Helps prevent Hard Build up.plack. Listerine Clinical Solutions. Antiseptic. For Gum Health. Keeps Gums 3 Times Healthier.
Not true. From a 2012 public health survey conducted by the OHA:
53.7% of the kids in the non-fluoridated areas had 1 or more cavities
52.03% of kids in fluoridated areas had 1 or more cavities
47.81% of kids in the Portland water district (which is currently fluoride-free) had 1 or more cavities
Correlation does not equal causation. Lack of funds for dentistry because of lack of ins coverage could also yield poor dental health. We don’t know any statistics about frequency of dentist visits do we?
Blows my mind that low information liberals think mass fluoridation is a good idea. The whole dental profession should be burned to the ground and started over. Microbiome is the most important discovery in nutrition, the dentists still think killing all the germs is the mission plan. 🤪
Also, how many people are actually drinking tap water, unfiltered. It seems a lot of people are drinking stuff they bought from the store or from fast food or at least have a sink or pitcher filter.
Oregon has never put fluoride in our water and no our teeth aren’t falling out and there are not higher rates of cavities in our kids’ teeth. AND, btw, our birds, pets and wildlife are safer because of this policy.
Nope, and so what if that were true. Oregon does NOT have higher rates of tooth decay. It’s a myth. States with the highest rates of decay drink fluoridated water. If you don’t brush or floss daily your teeth will likely develop cavities, fluoride or not.
Even more is if your diet is shit which we know it is. SAD has precipitated the massive health crisis we have. Not just cavities: a billion a day on diabetes and massive obesity.
Right. This is it. Fluoridated Toothpaste may be helpful for teeth, but drinking fluoride? It’s an insane solution when nutrition and dental care are fare more effective targeted solutions.
BTW, I am not anti-fluoride. I totally support its use in toothpaste or mouthwash (which warns not to swallow). I just don’t want it in my water or that of my pets, wildlife and birds. They have no choice, and No ONE has studied its effect on them.
Read the EU statement: your teeth are grown, it doesn't have benefits to the enamel, and also it will kill things in your mouth even if you don't swallow it. You spit out mouthwash. It kills the beneficial bacteria that the body uses to make nitric oxide.
OK but show me the studies on ingesting it, and the studies that show It’s beneficial to pets, wildlife and birds? If it’s in the water system it is reaching them too. Also, peanuts are proven to be a beneficial protein but it is deadly for some people.
This was scare mongering that surfaced when there was a ballot Initiative pushing fluoride. Also, Oregon, much to the shock of wealthy ppl who move here, has a high rate of poverty. Nutrition and oral health (brushing, flossing, dental care) are the solutions — not drinking fluoridated water.
“The report affirms that community water fluoridation is ‘an inexpensive means of improving oral health that benefits all residents of a community, young and old, rich and poor alike.’”
Meh, it's a public education issue. There's a special interest that's been overstating their case at the local level for decades. I want well-established science to provide the guiding light, either way - which we don't seem to have right now (despite echo chamber on bluesky thinking we do).
Show it to me you stupid brainless fuck. Go read the EU proclamation on it: only useful when teeth are growing, use topically, swallowing a bad idea. Let's get on zoom and find out who knows more science you halfwit dumbfuck moron.
Do you even realize that there are all sorts of ions in water everywhere? Natural water has fluoride in it everywhere, just often not enough to have beneficial effects
You are condemning all the kids with not great parents to a lifetime of bad teeth with your nonsense.
and btw, if you care so much about the teeth of kids with not great parents, maybe you should focus on the real cause: SAD.. or no, that's too hard so let's just pour industrial effluvia into the water supply everyone uses...
I am condemning no one. That's one of the core problems with dropping fluoride into the water: of course no one tests how much is already there. If you were arguing for testing ambient levels then constantly monitoring it, I would say sounds good. But you're not are you? Should we pour selenium..
into the water? that's a mandatory micronutrient. Do you even know what that is? of course that would be a disaster. Furthermore, running in and saying 'look fewer cavities, we won' is Trump stupid. Ever heard of Triclosan? was in the toothpaste everyone picked as best. Not anymore cause turned out.
Stupid, yes but we are about to outlaw vaccines in favor of Eugenics theory. It is about to get really fucked up and fluoride in the water will see so silly. Disease doesn’t care about your beliefs. The US is going to get a hard, hard lesson in science.
Stupid doesn't begin to describe it. For the state to sentence children to a life of oral ill health, despite the proven benefits and safety of fluoride, is unconscionable.
Well, I have to agree with you. Republicans do not give a rats ass about their constituents. They just interested in the power, but they keep getting voted in..
I had a couple of them show up to my door where I live in Mexico. They wouldn't take NO for an answer, I finally yelled at them, "get the fuck out here" that pissed off one of them, & he tried to prevent me from closing the door. I picked up a piece of rebar next to door. I think they got the hint
When 2 teens from LDS tried to “educate” me, I asked abt LDS dogma that only those following the strict man-made rules could enter dedicated LDS temples, w this question: “Do u have to be perfect to enter the “kingdom of heaven?” They said, “No,” & left. It worked. & I hope taught them something.
What do you expect? They want to make the poor suffer & want the poor to live long enough to serve them & die. They want the poor & what's left of the middle class to shoulder all burdens & for the rich to live a carefree life. Until American act to stop them it will get worse.
It's fixable though, although in slightly more expensive ways. In Sweden, we had, and may still have, "flouride ladies". Dental hygienists that would regularily go to every class in a school and have us rinse their mouth with a fluoride mouthwash and talk to us about taking care of our teeth.
Or school funds. They only need to pay for a dental hygienist to come regularly, that's not going to be very expensive. They might even get support from a dentistry association, or maybe a local dentist will subsidize it as a sort of advertising.
More expensive than fluoride in the water? Probably.
I guess my question is why should they have to fundraise or donate? IMO govt exists to provide services and keep us safe. Public school funds are paid by taxes, so you could shift the cost there. It is incredibly cheaper for the public water supply to add fluoride. We always pay, is it taxes for
This, or it is individual costs to people to protect themselves. I'm in the camp of this is a public service. It is keeping the public healthy and hopefully preventing more health problems and costs to individuals. I get nit everyone agrees with me.
Oh, they already do. It's gotten to a point where government agencies and scientists are being questioned because they fear living in a "nanny state." They simply don't want to be told what to do, and don't learn from the consequences.
maga fears living in the so-called "nanny state" as determined by right-wing media.
That cult has zero problems being told exactly who to worship, who to hate, what science to believe, what medicines they can take, what lies to believe, and what facts to disbelieve (their lying eyes be damned).
Although I'm a proud secular Christian, I don't put much stock into many Biblical stories, including Revelation, but the actions of maga/trump/Repubs is so on the nose of the Antichrist leading his cult of worshippers to bring about the death and destruction of the earth.
Honestly, the only reason I wouldn't start this myself to speed along natural selection is because there are so many asthmatics that would suffer due to second hand smoking.

The science here isn't remotely ambiguous.
People are going to get foxtrotted-up.
It’s a long lag. It’s not instant.
Some Parents will provide some supplements (my cousin took supplements because they were on well water.)
Just sad. That we had a great public benefit. You know I kinda start thinking about smashing the State when they take the carrots.

And if you think exposing developing brains to chemicals is smart, you go for it. YOU do what you want for YOUR kids, but don’t force MY kids to drink fluoride. It’s unnatural. It’s not healthy for their brains
Read the history of fluoride
Buy toothpaste instead.
Children’s developing brains are sensitive and the risk is too great
Dental infections are no joke.
Utah voted to ban pride flags.
That decision is causing snags.
Sundance is moving to a new state,
Since the old one is filled with hate.

... safe doses of fluoride may be below the currently recommended levels for most water supplies.
...found that males may be more affected by prenatal fluoride exposure.
Let's not be the science deniers
When researchers looked at water below 1.5 parts per million, there were no significant differences in IQ.” 7ppm is the standard. Very deceptive of you.
From the third study I posted. Tap water!

Let's hope they don't get a lazy textbook publisher in there trying to hawk 3.0 as thd value of pi. (that one actually came real close to happening, only a scientist happened to be passing by in the hallway.
Be a good parent and buy your kid toothpaste instead, rather than dumbing them down even further.

I had to have treatments at the dentist 😁
I use Tom’s
"Do you know what water fluoridation is, Mandrake? It's a Communist plot to sap our precious bodily fluids."
They had claimed cost and “choice”
We do have an abundance of Dentists. 🥲
I thought it was the Meth.
They're just stupid tyrants bought into the old conspiracy theories
Now Utah has to find new ways to deal with dreaded disease carrying mosquitoes.
To PDX, with NO fluoride 😭, doesn’t make sense all cause of some “natural” people wanting “natural water” okay well hope you floss and brush cause cavities are “natural” then.
53.7% of the kids in the non-fluoridated areas had 1 or more cavities
52.03% of kids in fluoridated areas had 1 or more cavities
47.81% of kids in the Portland water district (which is currently fluoride-free) had 1 or more cavities
Want fluoride?
Buy toothpaste.

It will give methheads a run for first place in tooth losses at least...
“Over 35 percent of Oregon children have untreated tooth decay, and Oregon ranks near the bottom among all states for childhood oral health.”
https://blogs.cdc.gov/pcd/2015/04/23/community-water-fluoridation-one-of-the-10-greatest-public-health-achievements-of-the-20th-century/
“The report affirms that community water fluoridation is ‘an inexpensive means of improving oral health that benefits all residents of a community, young and old, rich and poor alike.’”
Oh so the 'official' EU statement is the first and last word? What a joke.
Come back with ways Greger is wrong or just STFU, you have zero information, just making a juvenile argument from authority.
You are condemning all the kids with not great parents to a lifetime of bad teeth with your nonsense.
There will be lots of rotting teeth in Utah.
So stupid.
More expensive than fluoride in the water? Probably.
Why *do* they have to? Because their state voted for morons.
America is run by a death cult that's being and has been enabled through right-wing media propaganda designed to intentionally hurt people.
These neo-segregationists having been working towards this goal ever since the Civil Rights Act was passed to throw out Jim Crow laws.
