2nd: They sacrifice some participants to go through puberty by giving them a placebo.
3rd: There won't be objective results by default as at least one part of the kids will be under emotional stress bc. point 2.
Unfortunately it will take time and money 😞
We know 99%+ of people who say they are trans are trans. We know what best practice is.
NHS need to get honest.
I’m pretty sure that putting trial participation as a precondition for getting medication is also massively unethical.
If they were still routinely prescribing it, but asked for volunteers for a RCT that would be different. Or if the treatment had never existed.
But essentially they are asking “if we deny this…
The issue with try to carry out a retrospective study is that GIDS and the NHS have lost all trust.
"Nothing about us without us" is fundamental to ethical studies.

they shat on 6 about participation by affected populations
14 Id argue that requiring participation for meds that are known & used for years now would apply to obligation of care by physicians
18 if theres proof of outcome research must stop
19 special vulnerabilities
otherwise it would have broken rules like:
Potential participants must be made aware that their care will not be affected in any way if they decide not to take part.
(hra consent guidelines)
(making care dependant from participation is unethical)
People will find literally ANY excuse to not say "queer people" and I'm not sure if it's quietly supporting therians or if everyone is just terrified of "the Q word" nowadays? I thought we reclaimed that one?
