Serious q: what is the *political* upside for having NY Gov remove Adams?
I get that it would be good for rule of law and outcomes for city residents.
But if the price is political pain for Ds why would that be worth it?

We’re looking for the corrupt criminals to get what they should, what we would get it we acted so flagrantly criminal.
consequences
Now a MAGA in jail hoping for Trump to save him.
It failed totally in 2024, though.
Hochul is not that great to begin with so if she is primaried out that would be an improvement.
trump would be mad and lash out which does not actually help him.
Maybe let voters live with the consequences of their decision, let the pain flow, and don’t take a political risk to save them from their mistake?
I’m just asking questions? Really, tho.
But even so, I think raw political calculations probably matter more here than good policy outcomes if the good outcomes in the short term are accompanied by more serious future bad outcomes?
Just like on The Next Level
1 - yes, we live with stupid people all around us
2 - you are right 100%, maga folk would love it, if bad things happened to Democrats….. Sarah and Tim are great, but they need to go to the suburbs and see all the stupidity and hate for the other side.
Step zero is not electing a cop as mayor.
One of the "best" case scenarios I see right now is various states declaring their independence of the federal government and refusing to acknowledge EOs et cetera
That's a best case scenario, mind you.
I have many worse predictions that I'll save for a special day.
But it will also be bad for Hochul. Ds aren't rewarded for being the adult, but boy are they punished when they're not.
"Here's what you should've done, and here why".
This seems contrary to what Dem voters want. However, removing him would give the Head Fascist a reason to withhold federal funding like the mob boss he is.
Tough choice either way.
Voters punish any pol who does not sufficiently make the case to the public.
Biden was good gov but lost control of the narrative. Trump controls the narrative, but works against himself by his actions.
Being the anti-corruption party seems like a good thing (especially during the most corrupt administration in American history)
The accusations from the right will come no matter what Hochul does or says, that's inevitable. She has this power for a reason, and she will only look stronger if she uses it.
Trump does these things that don't solve problems and only cause even more at an exponential rate, on top of the already existing serious problems.
Make him fight everyone everywhere all the time. He'll get crushed eventually.
You have to do the right thing when the possible downside risk is ordinary. If the possible downside risk is, like, the end of liberalism, then maybe short-term good should be sacrificed for long-term good?
Can't have that.
No more milquetoast bologna.
Be Atticus Finch. Be the Three Musketeers. Be Navalny.
Show people why it’s heroic.
All kinds of fights are going to go down in NY. This is just the start.
