The hotel we’re at has a contract with Pepsi so I am generally drinking Diet Pepsi. If the bar I’m at has mocktails I will occasionally have one of those. But yes, for someone who doesn’t drink alcohol, a lot of my time is spent in hotel lobby bars. It’s indeed where the writers hang out.

You've mentioned in some of your afterwards & dedications that you don't drink so I'm assuming you're mainly going to the bar to socialize with those that do. What are you drinking Diet Coke/Coke Zero, mocktails, or something else?

Which I find hilarious considering our ancestors thought potable water was the bees knees.
Or pineapple juice with cherries lol
Cranberry, orange, milk, and water. Tap water. Leave it to ferment for exactly 💯💪💯💪

Still, I supposed there used to be zero places with good mocktails so I can't complain.
Without a doubt the most overrated novels ever.
Why not emulate the 19th century? Too
I remember my first trade show soon after. Hanging in the hospitality suites with heavy drinkers.
I found it very embarrassing. I kept thinking "shit, that used to be me"
Quitting is I my top ten best things.
There was a guy I knew who was willing to drink ginger ale & beer, so then I would walk my drink over to him and he'd be all, "Yay! Free beer!" and then I'd have to go buy another ginger ale. This happened so many times. It was actually pretty funny.
But if @scalzi.com never acquired a taste for beer, he might not like the alcohol-free type.
But lately I'm just less and less interested. I do like a nice craft beer, or hard cider, or cocktail now and then. Several times a year, is fine, no more.
