Folks asking which camera I got, so here it is. Note that this not an upgrade from or replacement for my current dSLR (a d780) but rather a specialized camera for particular uses. I suspect I’ll be taking a fair number of wildlife and moon shots with it.

I enjoy reading the specs on the glass in this one, however - lots of ED (the good kind) in there.
I would've liked to have this during the Blood Worm Moon eclipse.
Impressive zoom!
I love cameras. I have these 3, but the D70 has a sensor issue that produces all images in a rosy hue. It's like having a red filter attached to it. The fix would be replacing the image sensor.
That's why I have my Canon PowerShot SX 50 HS.
As a journalist, I got it to take candid photos from far away.
It works beautifully
Have fun with it -- I look forward to those moon shots!

Nice!
I love my Nikons.

I love mine.
Damn. Never, ever let my wife see this post. Then I can just say it was a couple of hundred quid.
I'm really jealous right now.
Which is great, actually. People think bigger sensors are the best things ever always.
If that can do RAW, you can just AI noise reduce the photos and be good to go.
