My mom’s labradoodle, Suzie would swim after the pontoon boat if you left her out. She’d be a hundred yards from shore doing her dog paddle and we’d have to turn around and go get her.😎😁
Did her human forget to ask for permission to go out on the kayak? Did she not fill out the proper permission paperwork in triplicate? If not, then Ellie was only right to assume she was in danger.
Our Lab hated when we played on floaty things. She only allowed us on a boat & only when she was in the boat with us. Otherwise, she preferred we were on land & throwing toys into the lake for her to swim after…
My lab when I was a kid was a riot at the lake. Terrified of dock. Fearless (and brainless) about 15ft cliff down to lake. Would leap off cliff to get in lake. Needed to be carried to boat so he could bite wake.
I knew it was getting towards the end with my old pup Wrigley when I took him to the beach for the last time. I doze off in my beach tent & came to, realizing my kayak had drifted offshore
I swam out to get it when I feel a claw on my back, Wrigley swam out to save me @ 17 y.o. He's always my ❤️
Well, Ellie is clearly a local hero. She needs a medal for bravery, certificate of appreciation, her own day and parade so everyone can come out and thank her, and the keys to the city.
Oh, and a bag of treats all to herself 😊❤️
One time I pretended to pass out and fall to the floor to see what my dog would do: he licked his butthole, sniffed me for a second and then laid down for a nap. Ellie did much better.

Stupid humans got themselves stranded again... 4th time this week. Do they ever learn?
Swear to God if the treats didn't taste so good they'd feed the fish at the bottom.
