I got vaccinated as a child. That helped me to live long enough to fall and scrape my knee one thursday afternoon. It's the vaccine's fault, I'm sure π
My son was born in 2001. I can remember how awful the atmosphere was around MMR and other parents boasting about paying for triple injections at NCT groups and why if you really loved your child you should consider doing the same. That now seems like a rancid turning point.
The doctor promoting this idea, who was running the study claiming there was a link, literally had a financial interest in the alternative/lawsuits. He lost his license over it, yet the rumor of it persists
as someone who is neruodivergant, i always found the insinuation that dying of a preventable disease is preferable to living with autism incredibly insulting
Don't flame me on this one, but what if it was that we give too many vaccines at one time and overwhelm the immune system allowing some nasty fungus to go after the nervous system or brain? It's not the vaccines per se - it's how we administer them. Just an idea
My cousin is a doctor and we talked about it. Her son is Autistic and so is my son. She says Vaccines doesnβt cause Autism.I felt it all started with that doctor that wrote the book. He said vaccines cause Autism. He came out and said he lied.
Hyper fixating on something for 7 years straight to the point it's The only thing you do or talk about to the point where you drive all your friends away might be a symptom of autism though... π«
Amazing to me that in a world filled to the gills with plastic waste, air pollution, food preservatives, pesticides et al...
There's a large number of people who have decided that the things that prevent diseases are the cause of health problems.
Better diagnostics. Iβm autistic and didnβt receive vaccines as a child. Instead, I nearly died from the measles at age 14 and am disabled as an adult because of it. Thanks to mom and dadβs religion.
Even if they somehow did in 0.001% of doses, the trade off would still be worth it.
I still haven't figured out what their end game is with this, besides scaremongering for votes. There's usually an economic angle underneath (always follow the money), but may just be a side effect of dumb.
Yeah a lot of us are kids of long time evangelical turned maga. So fuck that?
Iβm looking for a world where weβre not cheering on a bunch of people dying because βthey deserve itβ.
True and Mumps can cause male sterility; measles encephalitis, deafness and death; rubella infant birth defects in pregnant women. Thatβs just the beginning of vaccine preventable disease outcomes. Why not just get immunized? This generation has not experienced the horror but they willβ¦
Which is why we must fight to ensure that Big Pharma can never be sued by their customers.
In fact I think business shouldn't have to worry about being sued by their customers. We should make it a law, that you can't sue a company no matter what they do.
Vaccines are intrinsically safe, vaccines are just protein fragments that physically resemble some part of a pathogen. They train your own immune system to recognize the real pathogen.
Which is why this dude, who got vaccinated 217 times, is just fine -->
Better diagnostic tools, more awareness, more services available, less stigma, and more autistic people procreating. Autistics who would have previously been isolated or institutionalized are now pursuing relationships and families, making more autistic kids
Agreed.
Also, and more importantly imho, even if they did I'd still be pro vaccine. The diseases they protect us from are horrific and can be fatal, so ppl who refuse them bcs of the autism risk are basically saying they'd rather their child die than be autistic! Absolutely makes my blood boil!!
Nope. My son was born with it and still his grandmother blatantly blamed me for his diagnosis because I vaccinated him. She looked me in the eye and said βoh Anna, he was perfect. What a shame!β I will never forgive her. Btw heβs F***ING perfect!
Yep because autism has been around for a long time before they named it autism. Science sometimes takes time to identify all forms of humanity. Knowing exactly what causes these isms is the key to unlocking the cure. Yet once the cure is known it will still exist. Musksperms are freely passing isms.
I have studied autism for decades, and the ppl that want to argue about vaccines causing autism know nothing about autism. Btw my daughter with autism is smarter than many of those antivaxxers who get their information from sm.
1/2 Had a long convo with my Rogan liking teen. He fell down the βhuge rise in Autism, must be vaccinesβ hole. So we talked about the DCM5 and how there is no βtestβ for autism; itβs an assessment. βYou mean in 60 years they havenβt got a blood, biochemical or physical test?β Now we r thinking?
2/2 then the βSo before we had an actual test for TB; no one had TB? Some folk had a bad cough and died? But the didnβt have TB, right?β βNo, mum, of course they had TB, we just didnβt have a name or way to diagnoseβ¦β¦β¦.oh!!β
Of course not. Andrew Wakefield is a quack and a fraud, and everything else about the vaccine theory is based on parallel symptomology (and on mercury, which was removed from vaccines in 2001). But correlation does not equal causation, here or anywhere else.
And saying that they do is harmful to autistics and their caregivers. Less resources for research and development of services and educational models. Less resources to study the genetics that do cause autism.
Instead all the $$ flows into the same old research to debunk this conspiracy theory.
We are the only country that allows big Pharma to advertise on television and we are the most unhealthy country in the western hemisphere. Obesity is out if control. A vaccine isnβt going to save your sorry, obese, junk food eating life.
Vaccines are safe, please vaccinate your children.
Please protect your child the first year of its life. Because I have a feeling the right are going to stop vaccinating their children. Especially with RFK. Jr controlling our health.
Yup, thatβs obviously the answer. Autism is often un-diagnosed in some populations. That doesnβt mean they donβt have autistic people, but it does mean they donβt show up on the stats.
I taught near an Amish community. The only kids they sent to our public school were kids with disabilities. Kids with Downs Syndrome mostly, who had some exceptional needs. I donβt recall any with autism.
What data do you have to back up that claim? My first thought would be that the Amish likely have just as many autistics as the general population, but just like the rest of the world 150 years ago, they don't have the medical ability to diagnose them, so they're labeled as"shy,""weird,"or"retarded."
Trump thinks that's what happened to Barron. He has said it many times in a subtle way (see 2016 primary debates). It's how RFK Jr weaseled his way in.
Autistic people often self-medicate with marijuana! It makes no difference whether he smoked or not, his kids would likely be autistic. - signed an Autistic.
Unfortunately we gotta reinforce this with the incoming HHS head is a known anti-vaxxer. Not only that, he is one of the Big 10 proponents of vaccine misinformation. Also many people still believe it
I understand that l.
However maybe they can start giving babies less vaccines at once
Each vaccine (look up MMR) has side effects and when you give kids 4 or 5 vaccines at once, thatβs a lot of side effects.
My thought
You know who came up that theory? A shameless Dr. who bought up the old ind. vaccine patents for next to nothing bcs they became almost worthless. His studies were shown to be false, too.
Much of the research has been funded by public health agencies (NIH, CDC, WHO, etc), academic grants, and non-profits. Occasionally pharmaceutical companies do provide funding, but that doesnβt mean the findings are biased or inaccurate. Have you learned about how the funding and contracts work?

I'd rather take a small prick in the arm and be sore for a couple of days than be a prick and sore elsewhere...
Be proactive, block everyone they've ever loved or who has ever loved them (if they exist)!
But also: No, innocent children who haven't even had the time to form a political opinion shouldn't die because their parents are anti-vaxxers.

Me being on the spectrum doesn't mean I'm sick, it just means my brain is built differently. Literally.
Plenty of research out there showing actual autism rates are stable in time and just as present in the over 60's as the under 6's.
Also, and more importantly imho, even if they did I'd still be pro vaccine. The diseases they protect us from are horrific and can be fatal, so ppl who refuse them bcs of the autism risk are basically saying they'd rather their child die than be autistic! Absolutely makes my blood boil!!
some ppl with autism are very good at scientific research
