I saw a woman on tiktok eat a bratwurst stuffed inside a baguette with sauerkraut and mustard and now it's all i want even though afaik I've never had a bratwurst.
I've gone to three stores to make this happen

Especially liked to get TJ pizza dough and wrap the sausage in pizza dough and bake in the oven
1 bag of dough was enough to swaddle 4 sausages
Great comfort food
Whenever a recipe calls for one, I usually substitute kielbasa. Like that sando? It would be AMAZING with a kielbasa instead.
Now I want pierogies & kielbasa for dinner, with lots of sauerkraut & mustard on the side, and sauteed onions from cooking the pierogies, of course.
The meal is an old family favorite, from my Eastern European side.

The bread is what the other supermarket made today
The mustard is maille whole grain because I can't keep eating the emeril mustard I got myself even if I'm in my "we use what we have era"
The mustard makes me understand why people hate mustard.

Best if bought from a pushcart on the streets of Nürnberg's Altstadt
We’re talking about extruded pork scraps here, the more and better seasoned one is just going to be better.
And i hate sour cream.
(Also I wanted to clarify, I like sour cream mixed with horseradish alongside mustard in part because it keeps my nose hairs from getting singed off lol)
Shout out to the Mustard Museum in Wisconsin!
We are getting to the important issues!
Also it's not frugality it's teaching myself to be better about using what I have.
I just hate to see someone suffering with bad mustard.
A brat is a German sausage and hot brown German mustard is usually great with them. For when you run out of the other ones you don’t like.
Philly just an Amtrak ride away 😋
ooooh now I wanna bratwurst with mustard or some good sauerkraut rn
I wish I could experience this for the first time again. Good luck in your journey🙏
this is a Viennese specialty, not just German.
I hope your first experience is revelatory. Simmered in beer as mentioned above is important
But also I meant it as realizing sometimes I am not as understanding of different lived experiences as I think I am. It's good to be reminded of my own blind spots and bias
Better when the baguette is out of the oven fresh.
