I was watching until five am
A man doing what he must
For those he loves
A man showing how to handle anger
A man showing how to manage fears
A plain man of sorrows
Standing speaking plainly for twenty five hours
Cory Booker
I went to sleep happy and shivering
I think it's contagious
I was today years old when I realized that Thurmond filibuster began the day after I was born. I’m grateful to be able to watch Sen. Booker smash that legacy live today. What a reminder that the civil rights struggle is still young (because I’m not that old!).

Fuck that old racist dead fool.
Also stanky.
This is what then Mayor Cory Booker did when the cameras were off.
Can anyone imagine the current occupant of the Oval Office doing anything resembling this?

Joe Biden. In 2003.
Does anyone know if either of Thurmond's sons were in attendance?
