Electronic cultural hegemony — English is the lingua Franca of 20th/21st century entertainment — means that these random words and phrases turn up in a lot of slang and everyday conversation. Double so for imported sports.
hold up. I might want to join. Someone get me some connections to Germany so I can move there. I thought I was retired from athletics, but this seems like too much fun.
I caught a bit of some kind of car racing once that was on an ice track with high packed snow walls, so it was almost more like bobsledding with cars. I have no idea where it was or how to find footage again but it was a fun watch.
I feel like there's two components of note: (1) it's always made sense to my mind that of all European peoples, Germans would dig American football the most, and (2) that they'd also take it in some strange German humor direction
This is the first time I've actually found myself legitimately interested in watching sport.
Like, I find snooker a nice therapeutic background thing, and I enjoy rugby thighs/butts a lot, but this is just magnificent.

Beach football would be like beach soccer. There’s a lot of the same skill set but it’s a different sport.
That's what I really want to see
I am a scaredy-cat, that would be much too adventurous for me 🤭
