Keep avocado halves in beeswax cloth foodwraps. Just scrunch up the top. They keep much better for a few days than any other method I've found yet. #TheFrugalistBook
i put my leftover avocado in beans once and i felt like a fuckin genius when it came out perfectly preserved several days later (no oxidization, salted broth)
yeah i was eating them together anyway (big columbian breakfast) and i was about to wrap up the avocado and realized i had Bean Container™, and a hypothesis
i can only think of two situations where having oniony avocado would be a disadvantage (chocolate avocado mousse and avocado smoothie neither of which i eat) and the rest of the time it would add to it, like on a sandwich if your avocado is already oniony thats a bonus in my eyes
Also keeping the pit in, and sealing it as tight as possible with press & seal works, but I hate that stuff. I found an avocado container at Home Goods, and it works well too (without the pit/half side down), but I need a second one.
I sometimes like to catcall wildlife in an attempt to practice on how i will score with the ladies. I have been angrily assaulted by at least 2 bucks and a chipmunk.
ive just been trying to at least keep my avocados off of fox news, i put the parental block on their tv so they cant even get to the channel and i think that has helped a bit
i would recommend cutting the onion and letting those tears fly free - also its been mentioned a few times in the thread but just for good measure: the essential part is saving the pit in the side you want to keep for later, dont take it out yet, then put your lemon juice and/or cut onion and voila!
Sister Amanda ain't lying. Here in NC, you have to sprint to the car, drive home as fast as you can and bust that sucker open Now and use it! or... ☹️🤢 ew gross! (Tomorrow 😂)
Store them with a piece of onion in a closed container. If you want to keep guacamole fresh for longer add a teaspoon of sour cream for each avocado used.
I saw a whole bleeding youtube on this. Best result: Just wrap it tightly in plastic wrap. The outside will brown but you just slice that off and the rest should be fine.
I so get this. It's a little game I play with the universe. I buy avocados that are on the cusp of ripe. I miss the 34-second window when they're actually ripe. I throw them out, and I repeat the next week. Good times 😀
I have a worse problem i am growing tomatoes raspberries strawberries etc and my wife is feeding the king parrots lorikeets correllas and cockies who love some fruit and vegetables after their seeds
thank you. on a related note, one of the funniest things i've read was "i got really mad at my neighbor who kept on throwing avocados into my yard, until i realized i have an avocado tree"
I miss living in a place with citrus trees. We had grapefruit (sweet enough to eat from the tree) and bananas. Neighbors had oranges, tangerines, etc. I could leave the house and stay away all day eating fruit to survive 😄
One minute hard! Unusable Next minute. Unusable ! Compost. Hearing Australia is heading for a glut next harvest! Them smashed Avocado, toast & egg affordable. If egg prices are okay🙄😣🐨🦋🇦🇺
Yup.. it's like when you make guacamole. You add your onions and tomatoes.
The salt and lemon are not only for seasoning but also to preserve it. Leave the pit in it. It will last llonger and not turn black.

It's a well documented fact that your stomach is 100% protection from the ark!
Changed my whole life
The water provides and airtight seal and the juice prevents browning.
Ta da! 🎉
Hahaaa
Being an avocado lover is an art in itself. You have to check on them constantly like newborn puppies...
eat the entire avocado

Good as new.
