It's amazing how many people don't miss shopping there. Target screwed themselves long term. There are many who won't go back even if they reinstate DEI. The shareholders must not be happy.
Target and Walmart and all the rest will wind up going the way of Kmart completely and totally out of business and we are going to drive them out of business because they do not deserve our business
All they have to do is bring back policies which support merit-based hiring and a safe and equitable workplace for all its employees and they could have their profits back.
No, it has gone beyond that. Millions of people are tired of buying crap that enriches the billionaires. Plus, there will soon be nothing to buy. They have all royally fucked themselves as they sought to fuck us.
Let me guess, instead of one shmillion ga-zillion billion he’s just making one ga-zillion billion. Sorry. When you have a carport the amount of money that CEOs make sounds made up by a 6 year old.
I hear you. I do. I’m just saying. When you barely get by but still work constantly it is an insult to hear about “suffering” CEOs. HOW will they survive without a third yacht?
I’ve been boycotting Target but, to be fair, his decreased compensation is based on Target failing to reach 2024 goals. The boycotting started in 2025. Also, he still received $9.9 Million in overall compensation.
If they apologize and reinstate their DEI policies, I will shop there again. It was always a stop on my way home from an appointment. I wrote them a letter, when they announced their decision. I told them I wouldn't go there again. I got a polite answer, but they were not changing their mind.
If weve learned anything about wealthy conservatives it's that every million is important to them and they'd do anything for it. He's going to miss that $$
All CEOs should forego their lucrative bonuses and NOT RAISE PRICES!
Let them make up for the tariffs their king put into place. Put D.E.I. programs (that undoubtedly help grow their business) back into place.
Prove your loyalty to your customers, & your customers will prove theirs & buy again.
In 2024, Target's CEO, Brian Cornell, earned a total compensation of $20.4 million. This includes his base salary of $1.4 million, bonus and non-equity incentive pay, and stock awards valued at $16.1 million.
I bet he can survive on 45% less of this. Too bad.
Seriously, governments should measure how many of a company's employees have to be on public services to survive and the company should have to pay that back out of the CEO's salary. Salaries would change right quick
Most of their losses came from prolonged boycotts from the right wing. But do continue feeling righteous about putting working people out of their jobs.
Is it entirely his fascist bootlicking tho...I went to Target today. Plenty of parking. Not crowded. I walked out with nothing. One item was not in stock. The other item, deodorant, they only carry $13 sticks. What? Maybe DEI has little to do with it?
I don't go there unless I need something I cannot get elsewhere, or to pay my Target Credit Card bill, because I can pay it in cash. Every time I do, they send me a survey. I fill out every one of those things and lambaste corporate management.
I have their credit card and can pay the bill at customer service in cash. We limit ourselves to what we have in cash for the month. Otherwise, the last time I was there was because they had balsamic glaze, and I didn't want to make it myself; I didn't have time.
I haven’t shopped at a Target since they removed all the rainbow merchandise. I’m an allied and care for the LGBTQ+ community where I have many friends.
I won’t shop at Kroger’s if at all possible because they Elaine Chao on their Board of Directors (she was Secretary of Commerce during Twitler’s first term and is Moscow Mitch McConnell’s wife).
I will give her and Ditsy DeVos credit for Jan. 6th insurrection being a bridge too far and resigning afterward. But, they served with Twitler 99% of his first term and I am not forgetting their complicity in his 1st term (which should have been his last term).
There's no need. Just find who makes the product and get it directly from them. Also Amazon is more expensive in my experience. Plus the items I've been getting have been less than great for about 5 years. It's time they go.
Costco is benefiting from all of Target’s missteps. I hear it from all the Costco employees and you can see it from the increased traffic. What goes around comes around.
Boycott Wal Mart, too. And Amazon. And Unilever products (except Ben & Jerry's, who continue to push back and fight against the parent company, thereby deserving support.)
I'll never go back. Any change they might make would be performative. They told us straight to our DEI faces that they're fkn racist WS losers. Ppl who would go back aren't truly allies. I hope they go out of business. Buy used & support small businesses ✊🏽
A confession. Needed a camping chair for Bernie/AOC rally. It was 5 days before Easter, near end of Target "fast." Bought the chair; used it once. The carrying bag developed a hole; the string on the bag broke. I took it back for a refund, so technically? God speaks in many ways. Mea culpa.
I haven’t been in a Target in MONTHS & quite frankly, I DON’T miss it.
I really enjoy my new Costco Membership.
It’s a monthly 50 mile drive & it’s always CROWDED with other FORMER Target Shoppers, but it’s worth it to make a point that EVERYONE deserves a chance.
Don't know who was dumb enough to say it was a waste. This country revolves around MONEY. I will NEVER shop at Target again unless they stop being a bigoted company
The consumer holds all the power. When consumer spending is down, retailers pay notice. Remember the housewives protest against grocery prices in the ‘60’s and the housewives beef protest of 1973. Business people react to consumer boycotts- they have no choice.
Target’s anti- #DEI policy is causing their profits to DIE. Glad to see the Cornell is paying the price somewhat.
Generally speaking, #CEO’s are grossly overpaid in the first place.
We have to be more engaged. Sadly, even libs independent, and progressive are ducking our chances in 2026. We need a plan, nobody is willing to walk past their ego.
I'm shocked the CEO didn't have one of those sports super-star contracts. Meaning guaranteed number of years and guaranteed pay. There may be some, and only some, hope for corporate America. Pay == Performance.
Of course and their hats and stupid shoes if they the $$ for them. My only joy is rolling down my window and yelling hey and flicking him off. He’s always shocked the dumbass. Can’t wait to do that to him in a couple months if he has the balls to be there still. Then again he cant afford his stock😏
There is absolutely nothing special or unique about shopping at Target. My habit to shop there was formed over decades and eroded within days of the company’s betrayal and kowtowing to evil forces. It’s been months now and walking into that store is not missed. Good riddance Target.
But all the retailers are having a big problem! That big fat problem is that same sack of shit that's causing problems for many people none other than Donnie von Shitzinpants.
It's disingenuous.
The Target Stores i go to all have work forces that are 80% Black Americans, + immigrants.
1 near me even allowed a homeless guy to stay near the front door so people could buy him things.
I did of course. He needed some medicine type things. So I got them all for him.
The fact that they went so far as to slash his pay rather than reinstate DEI policy has convinced me not to shop there even if they walk back their decision.
Right on he verge of Little Donnie Two Dolls’ ridiculous tariffs, when all shopping except necessities will cease for most of us. They think it’s bad now, wait until they get a load of that.
I've only been buying groceries and prescriptions since Trump was elected. I'm dug in on not spending. If we all commit to this for the next four years (plus the effect of his insane tariffs) we can really put the hurt on Trump's economy.
e-bay, etsy, independent retailers, second hand stores, and Walgreens (for medications I use to buy from Amazon), Temu for somethings (nails, screws, etc).
I am trying to buy from actual people, or causes I support when I can.
I've rediscovered the library for books, e-books, audio books and music. Direct from manufacturer for merchandise purchases. Still need to cut Prime, but I have FOMO a fav show or 2
I’ve been looking up things on Amazon and ordering direct from companies or finding them elsewhere. You can also order online from Costco. https://Bookshop.org for books. Also just buying less stuff. I cancelled prime. If you have to order a thing or two don’t beat yourself up.
Another thing I’ve discovered is Amazon isn’t always the least expensive, though we’ve been conditioned to believe that. I found my favorite clothing wrinkle spray direct from the company was cheaper even with shipping 🙌
I'm good with buying less. But Prime Video is my favorite TV app. I love a lot of their shows. And of course, we've "purchased" some movies & shows. I really hate subscriptions for everything.
Never underestimate the power of Black pastors. Ultra lefties like AdBusters declare a general strike every week, it goes nowhere. I knew this one was for real when I saw who was leading it.
Don't forget Hairplug Hitler, aka Elon. He hates America and wants to destroy our country. He should be deported back to South Africa. We must ensure Hairplug Hitler and Tesla end up on the Dung Heap of history.
Go to Amazon, shop, read the reviews. Once you find the product you like then go direct to their site. I use Amazon essentially like a search engine abusing their data and resources. Never shop from them.
Once I had a very unique job & the SVP of Marketing said “there are 70 people lined up outside for your job.” He was right. No difference with CEO’s. Corporate America is overpaying elites from Ivy Leagues. Look for the most creative, agile & employee focused CEO & pay them relative to company 📈.
No CEO should be earning more then 10 times the average employee, or 20 times the lowest payed employee (take home pay, not hourly, what they actually earn in a year) which ever is *lower*, that would be all take home pay, including bonuses.
I send Brian Cornell a biweekly email telling him events that my family is shopping for at Target’s competitors since Target no longer values and respects the people we love.
They will all learn that their wealth is built on the backs of working Americans, who must be alive, working and comfortable for them to maintain their level of living! Without the consumers, they are nothing much....
you sound like someone who's never heard of the documentary "the high cost of low prices"
Big box retailers like Walmart, target, dollar general, HEB and many others destroy local businesses and ruin local economies by siphoning money out of small towns and into corporations.
If you care about the local economies and employment, you should work towards the dismantling of as many of these big box retailers as you possibly can.
I hope people do business together to fill the gaps: clothing, toys, small town pharmacies, cute boutique shops for bedding and towels that are reasonably priced and affordable, a jeweler, local gas station, patio furniture and other furniture, & garden centers. Our small town had all of these!
We had a cute boutique store in town but less people started going to it after they put up AI imagery, our small town pharmacy is awesome, I used them for many years as long as I could!
I haven’t shopped at a Target in probably over a year and I don’t miss it at all! I also deleted my facebook account months ago. Never was an Amazon prime customer and am quitting Amazon too.
I finally deleted Instagram a week ago (currently reading CARELESS PEOPLE). I don't miss it!
I gotta find a better cellular company next, but it's difficult. Oh, and get yourselves into credit union if you haven't yet! 🤗
Me too. I deleted my facebook account after Zuckerberg gave the felon $25 million with apology for removing him after he incited the insurrection. I quit Amazon a few months ago. Been three years since I shopped at Target.
These retailers must close, Americans. It's the only way for these people to get the message. They've got to be financial destroyed. We made them rich. We can take it away. Trump was right about one thing. We the consumers are America's greatest asset, and when we don't buy things it hurts you
I was more deeply disappointed in Target for what it’s done vis a vis DEI than any other person, corporation, or entity. I really thought I was doing good by shopping there before. And now I feel like throwing up every time I think about them. I don’t think that’s what they’re going for.
I also thought we were going after Bezos and Zuck. I left IG, Threads. I haven't been on FB for over a decade. Quit Amazon 12/2024. Now after Bezos buckled again w/tariff kerfuffle, and did you see the Zuck interview recently😅 Protests are working, but money is their Achilles heel, so let's go💙✌️
I don’t think people are as willing to end their relationship with those two.
Ive long wished groups/businesses would stop relying on social media to communicate. The algorithms on FB especially tend to work against them when they have something timely to announce.
I hear you. And agree. But I tell friends all the time when they whine about the impact of boycotting, “Resistance isn’t supposed to be easy.” It’s both true and shuts them up.
In what universe does an employee have their pay reduced when they do a bad job?
Maybe they should just FIRE HIM, and pay his predecessor way less money.
Why keep him on? Did Target really do this or are they just saying they did!
Rolls Royce Rose Noire Droptail - $32 Million
Rolls Royce Boatail - $28 Million
Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta -$18.5 Million
Bugatti La Voiture Noire - $16 Million
Rolls-Royce Sweptail – $12.8 Million
Loved Target. Loved, loved, loved Target. App deleted from my phone. Target stuff from Costco or CVS or the grocery store or do without. Actually saving money….😊
I loved them because they were firm that trans people could use the bathroom at their stores that they identified with, and said including the rural locations. I really wish to God they'd undo this DEI removal.
agreed…but that is what is so frighting. I was a big Target customer…stopped in January, now I realize I don’t need to and this will be the same for all our trading partners….our country will never be the same…just like Target🙃
Gemco was great. You could get all kinds of stuff there, reasonably priced. But their employees were unionized, and I think that's why they were shut down.
I sorta did at first. Minnesota native, Target is a cultural thing. I started finding better or as good things other places and Target has been off their game in recent years.
I skipped Target for an entire quarter (and counting) and I shopped at Target 1-2 times a week prior. I miss it, it’s inconvenient but I want to spend my half black money where it is welcomed and appreciated.
Look, we have two big stores in our town
If we boycott one of them we will have Walmart as our only discount store.
Do not think that hurting retailers that we depend on will help. This is for big cities.
We all need a good shop at Costco this week before the other stupidest timeline bullshit starts - the trade war is going to cause some supply problems. I stocked up a bit today and am going back tomorrow.
Just dropped $700 there on Tuesday. Had interesting experience with older black veteran. Aisle 1 “Thank you for your service.” Aisle 2, “I’m so sorry about what’s happening to the VA. I call and write all the time.” Aisle 3, he said “I appreciate you.” Aisle 4 we just nodded at one another.
Costco and more local business. I'm finding cheaper prices but have to pay for shipping for some things which ends up being about the same as Amazon. And I feel good doing it!

I'm patiently waiting until magcult, doodle, and dogE style get theirs. It will be GLORIOUS.
Hope they go under
Aw, crap.
F'n corporate greed!!!

I bet he can survive on 45% less of this. Too bad.
All shapes, all sizes, all colors, all cultures, all personalities … everyone is included.
Why is that so hard?

He was at $77.5 million in 2020.
White men must not be saving Target. Hhm.
Hopefully, this is just the beginning...
It would help if the white dude left without a golden parachute
No thank you
I do not have to support their company
I really enjoy my new Costco Membership.

#DiversityEquityInclusionWorks🎯
i'm still glad, but he'll be fine.
Generally speaking, #CEO’s are grossly overpaid in the first place.
What do you call it when Target cut their CEO's pay due to falling footfall and revenue?
A Start!
😀😁
Each Ace Hardware is independently owned. They buy as a collective to keep overhead down. — I’m sure some Ace owners are MAGA and some are not.
Probably the irony they are selling flags made in China is lost on them as well.
The Target Stores i go to all have work forces that are 80% Black Americans, + immigrants.
1 near me even allowed a homeless guy to stay near the front door so people could buy him things.
I did of course. He needed some medicine type things. So I got them all for him.
If MAGAts were economically prospering, Target would be flourishing!!!
Simple cause and effect.
#nospend2025challenge
This should be an example to other companies who are equally as obsessed with balance sheet optics. Make CEOs work harder, and save actual workers.
A motto of mine: Don’t go for the #TopDog when a Second or ThirdDog is just as good. Second dog tries harder.
For example: Choose #ebay instead of #amazon. Choose #duckduckgo over #Google search. Choose the #Opera browser instead of #Microsoft’s.
I am trying to buy from actual people, or causes I support when I can.
Cheap and reliable.
The shareholders are probably in favor of that...
Something to this effect should be a law.
The founders were known for being very progressive on these issues.
Screw that coward Bezos.

Detest Target. Haven't set foot in that dump since the 2011 data breach.
Maybe they should just FIRE HIM, and pay his predecessor way less money.
Why keep him on? Did Target really do this or are they just saying they did!
It's late Saturday night. I had two scotches.
Boycotts and blackouts hurt our economy.
Rolls Royce Rose Noire Droptail - $32 Million
Rolls Royce Boatail - $28 Million
Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta -$18.5 Million
Bugatti La Voiture Noire - $16 Million
Rolls-Royce Sweptail – $12.8 Million
We can do better!
How pathetic why don’t they dock him 90% and bring back DEI
If we boycott one of them we will have Walmart as our only discount store.
Do not think that hurting retailers that we depend on will help. This is for big cities.
Costco, OTOH has received a much larger percentage of our overall 'spend'.
They have great values, pay a living wage, and the prices are amazing.
Costco gets my money
