The problem with pieces like this, which are countless, is the prevailing media assumption that left-of-center Americans need constant corrective instruction about how to be in and engage with the world, whereas right-of-center Americans are simply to be observed in awe, like rainbows or mountains.

Opinion - The problem with Bluesky: It won’t broaden our horizons: In the wake of Donald Trump’s election win, the social-media platform has enjoyed a surge of new users looking for an alternative to Elon Musk’s X. But will it be useful, if it just creates an echo chamber for the left?

My horizons are plenty broad.
•There are nanobots in vaccines.
•Illegals get free stuff.
•Trump is a righteous Christian.
•Michelle Obama is a man.

Signed, an “unconsummated queer.” 🙄🫤
It's as if Elmo created a digital Rhodes Scholar alumni dinner and I'm invited!
White is the norm; POC need to strive to be white
Male is the norm; all men need to be MAGA males, and all women need to serve them
Fascist is the norm; all other ideologies need corrective instruction
If you voted Trump, this will be a fleeting moment for you all & gosh, aren't you going to miss this attention.
It’s no different than a brand product placement in a move or tv series.
It's the difference between going to a deteriorating restaurant in a bad part of town with lousy food & worse service, or finding a lovely cafe in a nice neighborhood where people are pleasant. Cafe every time.
Maybe zero social media is the way to go for some.
People I know here are perfectly willing to engage in reasonable, intellectually honest discussions with those who disagree with them.
The overachiever always has more rules placed upon them because the dumb child is a lost cause.
"Journalists" who do this are garbage.
By necessity the Left typically has to utilize various sources of info. One of the things that made Twitter great b4 is that it collated many of those sources for us. As X it's turned into mouthpiece for a singular, authoritative voice which is what the Right prefers.
Those in the MAGA world who I’m forced to engage w/ these days are often completely unaware (& usually skeptical) of some of the things I tell them their own side is doing/saying/writing.
Bluesky is education.
Btw, I lived in Wyoming with a transgendered person in my wide circle of friends and you'd be surprised how wide her friend-circle was.
MAGA don't represent "half the country".
Here on BlueSky, you can engage in thoughtful debate and be pretty sure an actual person is on the other side of that.
Pretty rich given the clown camp it comes from these days.
