Indeed, vaccines are intended to make these viruses more manageable. Same case for flu vaccines. For the record, no one without a Polio vaccine is able to manage that sickness, so, yes, in many cases, especially bacterial infections, vaccines are immensely beneficial.

Definitely, scare tactics were used, it is sad. COVID vaccines are intended to avoid death since they are not 100% effective. Same case as flu vaccine. Trump did a great job producing the vaccines, and Biden distributed them fairly quickly. Many vaccinated friends got COVID, but it was very mild.

Awesome reading, especially page 15. Section 3 is in the 14th Amendment, the presumption is that a due process applies. Engaging in insurrection can only be pardon by Congress, then it must be proved at a Federal level, in a Civil or Criminal court, according to our legal system. Any other way?

Most COVID infections on vaccinated people are not spread as easily, since the immune system reacts to neutralize the virus much faster than in none vaccinated individuals. Therefore, the rampant spread has stopped, if you will. COVID is here to stay.

The common cold is caused by rhinoviruses, and is rarely fatal. COVID-19 is caused by SARS-CoV-2, the flu is caused by the influenza virus A, B or C. Both can be fatal, we have a vaccine for both that will keep you alive after being infected by them. You can have a cold and COVID at the same time.

Thanks for the information. It appears to me that the comment is misleading. In reality, States are not in charge of Federal elections, but State Elections. The insurrection behavior must be proven in Federal Court, for a candidate in a Federal Election to be disqualified; DOJ failed us.

Stop spreading false statements unless you have the numbers to prove it. Millions of vaccines have been applied successfully. The antivaxxers are alive because of all of us who DID get vaccinated have stopped the spread.

The reality is the antivaxxers are safe because the rest of us DID get vaccinated. Our strengthened immune systems stopped the spread of COVID.

Again, per SCOTUS, enforcement of the Ammendment is what is needed by Congress, States are not qualified for such. Congress passed legislation that criminalized insurrection. Today, this law is codified in 18 U.S. Code § 2383. We need the conviction by DOJ, which we don't have.

The disqualification is automatically given to the proven insurrector by law, not by Congress. The vote of 2/3 of both houses would be needed to invalidate the already given disqualification. Very different situation. You are right about the fact that Congrees must act in any case.

You are wrong, SCOTUS did not address the disqualification but the enforcement, SCOTUS ruled that only Congress could enforce this clause under Section 5 of the 14th Amendment. Moreover, the Court also ruled that states and state courts lack the enforcement power of federal officers.

No vote needed, just a call for enforcement of the Ammendment. After adopting the 14th Amendment, Congress passed legislation that criminalized insurrection. Today, this law is codified in 18 U.S. Code § 2383. A conviction under this statute will lead to being ineligible from federal office.

Now I really wonder if you have ever read Amendment # 14. No obsession here, I honestly believe many Republicans would join democrats, but no insurrection has been proven, so they will not support the move just because there is a sentiment of insurrection. Anyway, glad to exchange opinions with you.

Once an insurrection conviction is achieved, then Congress can call for an enforcement of Ammendment #14, but democrats don't have the spine to do it even with a conviction... maybe the People could but we need a conviction.

We are talking about 14th Ammendment Sect 3, last sentence says Congress can dissolve the inability to occupy office for an individual guilty of insurrection, not the opposite. Since the insurrection has not been proven in court, it is just an illusion that the 14th applies in this case.

That is different, Colorado started the issue and it was SCOTUS clarifying the matter was of Federal jurisdiction. If a conviction had been first achieved, the 14th would apply without doubts. I am an American just as I hope you are too.

Classic egotistic maniac response... play the victim. Needs to go back to South Africa where he belongsn He became American, after being Canadian and Southafrican, such a clown.

This is of Federal interest, no State can rule on this, reason why SCOTUS designated Congress to enforce the 14th... democrats lack the spine to do it.

Absolutely correct, but I presume that we need to convict him as an insurrectionist first... where was the DOJ when we needed it to act expeditiously? Such a lost opportunity to avoid a criminal to be our next POTUS

Americans voted with their wallet in mind. Democrats failed to control the inflation on time - it is improving but is too late now. POTUS ignored the southern border crisis, and this is the result. No fascism here, family economics are first in America, and will always be. This is a punishment vote.

I know, but Trump has really made us favor in showing that this beautiful country is also the home to such an extremist group of people... I seriously thought we were past them... that I will have to give the guy.

It seems to me that inflation had its impact in the pocket of many independents and they switched to the false idea that Trump will recover the family economics... so money is over ideology in these sad times.
