Trump got caught on a hot mic saying he wants to deport U.S. citizens—insinuating to El Salvador’s president he intends to send “homegrown criminals” there. Let’s be clear: He’s talking about Americans. This isn’t tough talk. It’s dictator talk. He’d burn the Constitution if it got in his way.

I really do think we’re well beyond this point. If you pretend that your differences with friends and coworkers and family are about “politics” when in fact they’re about right versus wrong and fascism versus the rule of law, you’re doing your country a grave disservice.

Someone needs to tell these assholes that no one cares about their feelings. They need to either leave the firm or shut up and accept the disgrace that comes with being affiliated with collaborating with Trump.

The Lithuanian president showed up to honor dead American soldiers as their remains departed his country. The American president did not show up to receive their remains as they arrived in the US. He had a golf tournament to get to.

Now that Wall Street correctly believes, in light of his tariffs, that Trump is insane, is it really going to look with favor upon the law firms that shamelessly caved to him? Asking for a profession.

The dollar is in free fall, stock market is down, and the price of groceries is up. Is this the “Golden Age” Trump promised you?

This is open grift and corruption from the President of the United States. And if you can’t admit that it’s a problem, you’re in the grip of a cult. Every time he does this, he degrades our entire country. It’s also sad. Many Americans who trust him will lose their savings.

"The point of sports is to teach us about life. Which means learning to understand unfairness. To absorb it. To grow from it. To be resilient. And maybe most importantly: To feel empathy for others when life is unfair to them."

Maybe the Trump administration should just stop violating the law?

These are the senators who collaborated with the GOP. Schumer Fetterman Cortez Masto Durbin King Shaheen Gillibrand Schatz Hassan Peters Don’t let them forget it. No peace for them.

With an opposition party like this, what is the point?

This is a Hitler-screaming-in-his-bunker-at-generals level of lunacy

You know what the real scam of Social Security is? If you make above $168,800/year, the government STOPS taxing you on every dollar above that. Billionaires like Musk and Trump NEVER pay their fair share — and now they want to take OUR money away!!?!

The cost of an infomercial on the White House lawn is about $100 million

They are fucking losing it

Gloria’s not wrong

The President of the United States is pretty relaxed about the rest of us experiencing economic disruption so long as the world’s richest man can keep selling overpriced cars assembled for him by underpaid workers who get fired when they attempt to unionize.

The U.S. will be a superpower emeritus when Trump and Musk are done looting it. Three what-ifs that led to Citizens United and an America in existential crisis. Plus @tiffanymuller.bsky.social on how to fix it, if we can. My latest @thebulwark.bsky.social. www.thebulwark.com/p/the-road-f...

Strange that President Biden never had these crappy numbers when it was actually his economy.

BREAKING: The Canadian province of Ontario will charge 25% more for electricity to 1.5 million Americans in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s trade war.

GOP Rep. Don Bacon: "We were the leader of the free world, but it appears to many leaders and people all over, to include Republicans in Nebraska, that this administration is walking away from that legacy."

BREAKING: A plane with five people on board just went down in Pennsylvania. Another horrible catastrophe. But don’t worry, Sean Duffy is going to have SpaceX in our FAA.

As long as Donald Trump is in the White House, America is not on the side of the good.

Where is the Big Law response? Trump has issued EOs that target specific lawyers or firms solely based on the fact that they represented clients or advanced interests disfavored by the government. It’s an existential threat to the legal industry. But thus far it’s been crickets from Big Law.

🧵 This is a perfect example of what I've be describing as disordered discourse, and it's threat to democracy. Politicians are afraid to speak openly about key issues. Why? Because disordered discourse has captured the system itself—forcing obedience, punishing dissent, and making truth irrelevant.

May I suggest that the Democratic Party look to Matt Drudge for messaging advice.

Performative, anti-semitic public lying is a hallmark of far right authoritarian parties

Facts

DOGE cut off payments for the electricity, cell phone, and internet service of U.S. government employees who work in a high-risk area in Central America. Meanwhile, DOGE apparently plans to spend $25,000 to install a washer and dryer for their own personal use in a federal office building in DC.

America: The oligarchs broke in, ransacked our Republic, ended democracy and took everything. We just sat there and watched. 😭 World: omg. WHY?!? America: Decorum.

Donald Trump is a madman.

Someone needs to explain to our Sec of Commerce how capitalism works. America has a GLOBAL TRADE SURPLUS on services. Services have the highest margins and profits of our exports. That is where capital and expertise focused. It is why we dominate in tech globally.

Canadian newspaper meets the moment. Will we ever see a front page like this in America? What would it take?

Great job, MAGA!

What has happened to this poor man. Trump a “leader for life”? Graham a lawyer willing to ignore the Constitution? He is desperate to remain in proximity to power.

Starting this week, we’ll all pay more at the store because of the Trump tariffs, even while he’s finalizing a multi-trillion-dollar tax cut for the wealthy. All the bluster is meant to get us talking about literally anything else.

👀 The Times published a cartoon titled "General Address to Congress."
