Monster Hunter is as obtuse and confusing as people joke souls games are. It’s overwhelming with menus and abilities that have no explanations or readily available descriptions, there’s no real track on progressing or guidance on when to upgrade. The real problem with Star Wars is how corporatized it’s become. The original had this weird, scrappy sort of indie feeling. Big ideas, big nostalgia for Flash Gordon, big love for Kurosawa. Now they literally have story archetypes like “Scoundrel.” It’s a “Scoundrel story.” It’s so bland.
