Library, then local store, then online if I need it now. I rarely need it now. Library almost always has it but needs to get it to a local branch. Can’t remember the last time I bought online.

"Another six Etsy orders!" "Calm your tits, Barbara, I'm working as fast as I can."

Great harm reduction: Google now will proactively search for #databroker listings with your personal info and let you request the results be deindexed with one click. Wondering where #DuckDuckGo and #Bing are at on this. Set it up here: myactivity.google.com/results-abou...

Hey cis people! Your cis friends, family, & colleagues are constantly being bombarded with transphobic lies. Republicans are even running fearmongering ads during sports games. No one listens to us, but they might listen to you. So do me a favor and share this.

This is the best book review ever written and it took 15 seconds to do.

Periodic reminder: What you see on social media is an algorithm-curated echo chamber. Those who shout loudest typically get amplified the most, regardless of whether they’re right. The real work takes place offline. If you’re getting stressed out by today, take a break, focus on what you can do.

Scraper accounts seem to be on the rise, so here's a list if you want to block them all. Feel free to report suspicious accounts to me, but do NOT tag/quote them. If they're alerted to my presence and block me in advance, I can't do anything (at least with bsky interface). bsky.app/profile/fran...

If you're enjoying your time on BlueSky and it's working out for you, please consider hyping it up in front of your mates, but do encourage them to use goodfeeds.co or to dig through the people you follow to help ensure their app doesn't look dead because there's not much education on that.

It’s comforting to know some of the most odious will never migrate as a matter of principle.

I’m thinking of adopting “punk” as my religious affiliation.

I sure see a lot of lawyer / legal types in my TL. Where did they all come from? I’m not complaining … it’s useful and I should branch out. It’s just so, unexpected?

I suspect Al has already taken over. But he has decided it isn’t time to let us in on it - just yet.

Btw Blueski DMs don’t tell the other person you’re typing, so you’re safe to change your mind mid text

if your phone starts ringing while it's in your hand, the natural reaction is to throw it across the room like a grenade

i was working in employment law when companies started requiring return to office, and my impression is that it was largely the result of groupthink among CEOs. a few of them decided it was the move, others followed suit, and that was that. there was no data or analysis, they just wanted to do it.

"Do you smoke the devil's lettuce?" Mom, why the h*ck would I smoke coleslaw

Editorial boards: We all have the right to free speech but some should be arrested for their speech while others can't even be criticized

Sorry I'm just processing a lot right now (four burritos)

the fact that there are people in my mentions going "wtf is a protocol???" is a massive W for atproto

I blame @bermanmatt.bsky.social for this being buried in my mind's eye now.
