Is this the same David French that has a regular column in the New York Times where he tries to portray himself as "one of the good Christian conservatives"?

Wonder how Musk's and Thiel's companies will do on that "detox"

Thanks for all your great work, really appreciate your reporting! "Motion to transfer the petition" does that mean the DoJ is going to try to get this transferred to the district court in Louisiana (or wherever it is they've hidden him away)?

Federal workers took an oath to the constitution but mostly are not themselves constitutional experts. This kind of scholarship, commentary, advocacy etc. that you and others are engaging in is very important because it can help them understand when an order is lawful and when it isn't

I agree. And couldn't the AUSAs that put this case together pass some of their information to state prosecutors? I would imagine that at least some of Adams' conduct at issue is also criminal under NY state law

Really hope Democratic politicians are listening because this is so accurate and true. Also I love the "Ivy" look you're wearing in your videos, where did you get that yellow university strip button-down?

I'm not sure if he really believes in (or even truly understands) mercantilism. I think it's more that tariffs are a tool he can use to try to assert dominance over Canada and Mexico. He wants them to publicly bend to his will, he doesn't really care about trade benefits except as they benefit him

It's not mentioned in the Verge article but this was done under the Congressional Review Act, which allows Congress to disapprove federal regulations and is not subject to filibuster, so just a simple majority vote is all that would be needed

I didn't realize fascism had a geographic origin protection, I thought it was one of those things that is just vaguely "European" like Nutella and small diesel hatchbacks

Another great article, thanks so much for all the work you do to keep us informed about what is going on in the courts

Didn't we literally have a free trade agreement with Canada? How much better than that could we realistically get?

Your colleagues should add "practicing originalism without a license" to their "about" footnote

That's been part of the conservative playbook for a while now, when someone points out the major flaws in your reasoning, police their tone

I went to YouTube to watch the part you mentioned, and right below this video was another video of a fed soc debate about birthright citizenship in Arizona. Looks like they are going all over the place to try to normalize the idea that there is a "legitimate" debate about what this concept means

This may be a dumb question (I'm not a litigator), but with cases like this one, Kennedy, 303 Creative, etc. could appellate counsels introduce new facts on appeal that were not part of the trial record, and point to these opinions as authority to do so?
