“I'm standing with Karam, Hamdan's 7 year old son, near the blood of Hamdan's in his house, after settlers lynched him. Hamdan, co-director of our film No Other Land, is still missing after soldiers abducted him, injured and bleeding. This is how they erase Masafer Yatta.” - Basel Adra film director

They said Singapore could not make it on their own. They were wrong about Singapore. They are wrong about Scotland.

Why the deliberate health cuts and chronic underfunding? To pay for tax cuts for the rich of course. Fix it with this one simple trick. #taxtherich #taxwealthnotwages #nzpol

But not enough to sanction or divest. Please save the pearl clutching if not willing to do #ArmsEmbargoNOW #BDS 🤬 #France, #Germany, #UK ‘appalled’ by civilian casualties in #Gaza #WEOG #hypocrites www.middleeastmonitor.com/20250322-fra...

Trump’s gonna gut social security and pass the “savings” onto Israel.

The UK has all the growth it ever needs, we just have to take it off the billionaires who have stolen it all.

If the Trade Unions ran the UK you'd be able to get a good job with a decent wage and a great pension. Now that only sounds bad if you are one of the 'bosses'.

"The Government is demonising and punishing Disabled people for the economic failures of successive governments. Why isn't it looking to the rich to plug its funding gap?” via Peter Stefanovic 'Disability Rights UK's Statement on the government’s planned benefits cuts':

It is costing you ÂŁ20bn a year NOT to nationalise the water companies, and it is going to go up nearly 10% EVERY YEAR. All that money is stolen out of the UK to foreign tax havens. This is the cost that you cannot afford.

I've started to realize that Anne Frank and her family wouldn't have been safe around a lot of people I know and loved and once respected. That's not something you get over.

The wealth of the richest 1% is increasing by 10% (ÂŁ250bn a year). Meanwhile everyone else is getting poorer. Why is taxing the rich the ONLY thing that isn't on the menu?

The UK is supplying weapons to a country whose leader is wanted for war crimes. How much simpler can we put it?

It was great to catch up with Chelsea Manning. Chelsea paid an enormous price for exposing US war crimes to the world — and continues to speak out against state surveillance and defend the human rights of others. She is proof that acts of courage can change the world.

I say we build a Time Machine and go back in time and kill Adam and just see if we can’t start the whole thing afresh.

I think maybe George Bailey wasn’t born after all.

State-sponsored kidnapping The Trump admin took people by force, based on flimsy accusations & sent them not to their home country but to a notorious mega-prison in El Salvador—in defiance of a court order. Holding people against their will through deception and threat is by definition—kidnapping.

Meanwhile every government has refused to #TaxTheRich let alone #AbolishBillionaires meme via @dailypolitik.bsky.social

Ahead of Germany’s election, with anti-immigrant sentiment rising, they released viral videos showing life without immigrants. History proves that when a country starts erasing certain people, it doesn’t end well. 🧵

The rich do not pay tax in the UK People on average of ÂŁ36,920 pay 33%. People on PAYE earning ÂŁ250,000 pay 47%. People with income of ÂŁ2,000,000 pay only 19%. Billionaires only 11%. If you are rich you can choose not to pay tax, it should be illegal.

Recieving less in benefits does not make you less disabled, it simply makes you more vulnerable. Labour should be ashamed. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

Labour is gaslighting disabled people – and that should terrify us all - Zoe Williams 'The messaging that suggests poverty is caused by low aspiration and that disability is a choice could have come straight from the Conservatives’ playbook' www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Receiving less benefits does not make you less disabled. This is an attack on the most vulnerable, pure and simple. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

Thames Water has been given a ÂŁ3 billion bailout, paid for by you and me. Why should households have to pay for the mess that Thames Water got itself into, just so execs and shareholders can protect their profits? There is a better solution: take water into public ownership.

You cannot refuse to tax the rich whilst cutting life-line benefits for the most vulnerable in the name of 'fairness'. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

If you have a choice between taxing the rich, and cutting disability benefit, and you chose the later, you got problems...

Every week, I speak to people in my constituency struggling with mental health. Many are worried about feeding their kids, paying the rent or losing benefits. Britain's mental health crisis is the result of political choices. This government is choosing to push more people into despair.

"Actually the richest people are the problem, and they need to get poorer."

My Facebook feed includes an advert from Great Ormond Street Hospital, requesting donations towards vital equipment for kids with complex heart conditions. That ought to be funded by the NHS.

"Strikes will put us out of business!" Right. Your workers put you in business in the first place. Pay them well and treat them with respect and they won't strike. ⚒️

Cutting more red tape? Forget Grenfell? Forget the sewage scandal? Forget PPI fraud? If the one thing the rich don't need, it's more freedom to scam the rest of us. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Soon to be banned knowledge Pass it down www.marxists.org/english.htm

Thames Water has its final legal appeal to allow its ÂŁ3bn loan tomorrow (at 10% interest that billpayers will pay) If it gets it, it goes bankrupt in 6 months anyway, and you will have to pay it all If it doesn't it goes bankrupt tomorrow RT if Thames Water needs to die

over diagnosed? OVER DIAGNOSED? took three years for my son to get an autisim diagnoisis, and that was because after three years we gave up on the nhs and went private www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Adolescence on Netflix is a miracle of storytelling, writing, directing and acting. Just brilliant.

The Trump administration has declared a war on words, but one seems to have proved shifty enough to slip the net of the censors and hardy enough to retain its moral power. “Solidarity,” a word of the old left, is being tailored to fit the hopes of the moment, Parul Sehgal writes.

We need to talk about a scam that many MP's are using, they make you pay the rent for a house to use for 'work'. Then they rent out their own house, and live in the one you pay all the bills for. This benefit scam needs to be stopped it's costing you millions.

I know where I stand on austerity. That's why I voted to scrap the two-child benefit cap, opposed the means-testing for winter fuel payments, & will vote against cuts to welfare & disability benefits. Instead of targeting the most vulnerable, the government should tax the rich.

'This is the absurdity of the Starmer Government’s justification for cuts in benefits for disabled people; their “moral case for making sure that people who can work are able to work.” Next they’ll be calling schooling a “work-limiting condition”.' via @dailypolitik.bsky.social
