Indeed, when advancement is based on loyalty you get an administration filled with incompetent yes men. No information flows to the ruler and decisions are based on fantasy instead of reality. I believe @anneapplebaum.bsky.social referred to them as "clerks".

But at least we can all now buy a blu-ray collection that has all the legitimate Bond films in it, without worry about how we integrate the newest film in to the box set.

Can we not let that "overwhelming victory" crap just sit there hanging without challenge? it was not an overwhelming victory, It was not a mandate. Trump won by a smaller margin than Biden beat him by in 2020. We need to smack that shit down.

Block and ignore. These types of people demand an audience. Let's not give them one

DSA/DGA are directly effective EU Regulations. member states don't get to choose how to implement them. The only way for an individual country to roll them back is to leave the EU. Given Ireland's massive windfall at the expense of the UK from Brexit, I don't see it leaving the EU anytime soon.

Trumpism is like a snare. The harder you struggle against it the stronger and more restrictive it is going to get. It needs to be starved of oxygen. Absolutely be kind in your daily interactions with others, but let's give them enough rope to hang themselves with and be ready to pick the pieces.

It's great news until you actually learn who is doing the burning. Still pretty good news though. Anything that weakens Putin is a plus in my book.

This is absolutely terrible analysis. HB's circumstances are exactly what pardons are for. Should JB not have pardoned him solely because he was his son? They also really don't understand why HB was pardoned, not for the conviction but for the coming witch hunt. Hopefully Fauci will get one too.
comment in response to post
Absolutely this! He should preemptively pardon Fauci asap. I hate to think what these hyenas in Trumps DOJ will try and do to him.
comment in response to post
This pardon isn't really about the firearms conviction. It is protection against what Trump and his cackle of Hyenas have promised to do. They are going to go back into the whole Burisma thing again, but this time they will prosecute, not because of new evidence, but because of a lack of restraint.
comment in response to post
Flip this on its head, should a President refuse to pardon someone who rightly deserved it, solely because they happen to be related? HB's conviction, and more importantly the revenge prosecutions that Kash Patel has already promised, more than meets the criteria that you set out for a just pardon

I would very much be in favour of bringing that tradition back. Bit less cumbaya, bit more Gavrilo Princip.

I am referring to the terrible idea to lean into campaigning on Gaza, trans rights and BLM. No faster way to alienate what should be a core Democratic constituency.
comment in response to post
No, thankfully. Didn’t stop them using it as a cudgel against Harris. It would be a terrible idea to lean into it.

No one is saying that we should abandon them, but putting them front and centre is a terrible strategy and it is one of the main reasons that we lose.

Yeah, but no. These are exactly the issues that sunk us. Left yes. As in labor. As in fighting for working people against the brotocracy. All this identity garbage is a losing game.

All sounds great in theory, but please point me to the people debating the merits of DJT in good faith. The issue of debating with Trumpists is that there is an extreme dearth of intelligent, thoughtful voices with whom we can have a meaningful debate.
