Thankfully, most polls indicate that Trump is disliked by about 80% of the population, I dont disagree with you though, theres a very loud Faragist group of people who think some pretty odd things

Lets see how this looks after todays meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump, lets see if Farage is still flavour of the month after that...

I'm not even going to suggest rejoining the EU here either, BUT we need to get back to a place where we cooperate actively with European countries, either on an bilateral level or otherwise, we should be in every meeting, even if right now thats only Ukraine, we should be in lockstep with the EU

Remember when right wing politicians believed in the free market and genuine competition? To control markets in this way could almost be compared to the Soviets

And as both President Macron and my Prime Minister Keir Starmer pointed out... It isn't in the form of a loan, when you're fighting for peace and democracy on your own continent you throw the kitchen sink at it. I used to think these were values shared by our American cousins...

To not come out and support Zelenskyy is a HUGE mistale and puts him out of step with the British public

Pathetic, spineless, weak

Hmmm, Severance is out today, I think I'll probably go in that direction

Its so unbelievably tone death, the King is literally the head of state of Canada, Canada is ex-Empire, a Commonwealth member, and Trump keeps on disrespecting them on a ridiculous level as are we by disregarding alllll of our historical ties to Canada for what? Thats just one of many many reasons

Memo to the UK and EU, get over 2016, get over Brexit, work out how we can work together, productively to move Europe forward, protect Ukraine, and cut off the USA, lets bang our heads together, put on a united front and show America that Europe still has the power to look after itself
comment in response to post
Britain is European. They're our neighbours our closest allies, the EU and UK together is the richest group of nations in the whole world. If we can just bang our heads together and get over ourselves we can cut ourselves off from the USA and put Russia back in its box

It was more Chamberlain 1938 than anything really...

And all with a bust of Churchill looking over Trump's shoulder...

All of this with a bust of Churchill looking over Trump's shoulder...

Something might have happened today that overshadows it somewhat...

Anyone with eyes can see what happened, and if Europe doesnt stop kissing the ring sometime soon we'll end up making the same mistakes that Chamberlain made in the 1930s

Meanwhile in Europe we're enjoying our free healthcare, maternity and maternity pay and five weeks holiday a year, honestly the left in the USA needs to get good at communicating and quickly

Imagine how the likes of Reagan or JFK would react to this...

Its sad, as a British citizen I love America, I've been several times, and the UK/US alliance was/is the best in the world but this approach to Europe is disgusting, disrespectful and dangerous
comment in response to post
I can't believe the President of the USA treated Zelenskyy as appaulingly bad as he did, clearly Europe, can't rely on the USA anymore and we should be working round the clock to cut ourselves off from the USA as quickly as possible
comment in response to post
American cousins, you're great, and the UK and the US have stood together through basically everything, BUT theres no way we should choose Trump over our own European neighbours, I those that voted for Trump hang their heads in shame
comment in response to post
Ahhhh I'm sure thats what the papers will run with tomorrow
comment in response to post
I hope that this was the moment that European leaders, the EU and the UK get a grip and work to be USA-free
comment in response to post
It makes me annoyed at myself for being relieved that Starmer did a good job yesterday. I should thank Zelenskyy for reminding me of what is right and wrong in the current international climate, this should galvanize Europe, lets hope it does
comment in response to post
Why are we so intent on having a relationship with a country led by someone that can speak to someone SO disrespectfully, Starmer needs to get on the Eurostar, get to Brussels, and start working out how the EU and UK can start working together to make sure none of us need the USA anymore
comment in response to post
I mean... Both Macron and Starmer look absolutely pathetic right now, and as for Farage, we won't here from him (hopefully) for months now, does the UK really need this sort of toxic horrible relationship with the US led by Trump
comment in response to post
We are European, our real friends are in Europe, we have Russia everything they wanted in 2016 by leaving AND weakening the EU (not a popular view, but it did) the UK needs to re-take its seat at the top table in the EU and get a grip, Europe needs more unity and more military cooperation
comment in response to post
This'll sharpen the public's view on this as well, given Trump isn't exactly popular in the UK and support for Ukraine is pretty high the government and the Tories who've praised the visit yesterday to the hilt now look totally out of step with the public

I flew for the first time ever with an American Airline last summer (I live in Europe) and I have never felt so uneasy on a plane, people trying to go to the toilet while on the way to the runway, people ignoring seatbelt signs, nobody seemed to care, if you can't get the small things right...
comment in response to post
I'll start off by saying the UK does of course need to do more, however, I live in Norway, most properties have an electric boiler, water isn't heated with the heat pump, most properties have a wood burner, and almost everyone has electric radiators in every room, they don't do everything
comment in response to post
How long can the UK pretend that its big enough to not pick a side (i.e. EU or US)?
comment in response to post
This was always a stupid idea, imagine the damage that would be done to both BA and Heathrow if travelers from America going to EU countries would need both a UK visa and a Schengen visa, everyone would be landing in Amsterdam, Paris and Frankfurt, it'd have killed Heathrow
comment in response to post
Trump isn't even in the White House yet and the whole Farage/Trump/Musk thing is falling apart like a cheap suit, imagine the state of it all by the 2028 US election and the 2029 UK election

And Honda don't really have anything to offer him from 26 onwards, AM will likely be Stroll and someone else (Alonso in 26) and who knows after that, and there aren't really any teams wanting a new PU supplier, so no new customers for Honda (unless Audi falls apart) I can't see how Yuki stays in F1

I asked them exactly this question! This was almost two years ago, I'm sadly yet to receive a response...

Overseas representation is really important, I wrote to my MP, in the constituancy I vote in and am registered to vote in and the response I got was simply "if you don't live here I can't communicate with you" make that make sense
comment in response to post
I don't think that its a coincidence that Labour have gone after pensioners and farmers to make up the short fall... Two groups of people that voted overwhelmingly for Brexit, they should pay for the damage inflicted and I think Labour would benefit greatly from framing it this way
comment in response to post
So whats he going to do? Make two different versions? A possibly dangerous model and then one that has to comply with EU safety measures? Or just decide to pull out of a wealthy market of 500million people thats moving to EVs at a far faster rate than the US?
comment in response to post
Ultimately, it'll be the Tories that take us back into the Single Market, they'll eventually realise theres no point in their existence if they don't put trade, business and the free market first, thats why they wanted to join in the first place. Eventually they'll realise they can't out do reform
comment in response to post
Surely McLaren and probably Ferrari wouldn't be silly enough to repeat the mistakes of 2008 which arguably led to them being deposed by Brawn/Mercedes and RedBull who as we all know won every single title between 09-23... For the first time since 08 they are arguably the best two teams on the grid
comment in response to post
They've had a weak start, they need to do things that people can actually point to and say "look they did that" that isn't doable within 5 months. The bigger problem is that I can't actually say what they want to do, what tangible changes do they want to make?
comment in response to post
I agree 100% with what you're saying, but if one person is pressured or feels pressured to end their life then thats tragic
comment in response to post
I agree with the right to die, but I do think fundamentally that if this is to eventually become law there needs to be iron clad safe guards in place, they're not writing legislation for education reform or tax evasion, they're legislating to create mechanisms by which someone can end their lives
comment in response to post
One of the major problems with this is how do you give people the right to die, while closing every single potential avenue for exploitation and who knows what sort of societal impact this could have, not just over the next 10 years, but the next 50. It's not as simple as we'd all like it to be
comment in response to post
Ahhh so most likely Brexit voters then, good, those who voted for it should be trying to fill in the Β£100billion black hole
