Underscoring the slippery slope aspect of Trump’s recent Alien Enemies Act declaration…

Worth a read nymag.com/intelligence...

Nothing to see here—just the President of the United States suggesting that Americans who vandalized the cars of the company owned by his biggest political donor should be sent to a notorious prison in another country. This is insane.

Disgusting, even for Trump.

The answer to improving education is not eliminating the Department of Education. Republicans know this, their defense is “let the states handle it!” If they believed in that, they’d eliminate the Department of Defense and “let the states handle it.” Their logic is BS.

Title 1 schools? That’s the Department of Education. Pell grants? That’s the Department of Education. IEPs? That’s the Department of Education. We need to improve education system, we do not need to eliminate the Department of Education.

Even conservatives have to agree with Medicare for All when we lay it out.

Are you in or near Nottingham? If so, there are a few tickets left for our event on Tuesday evening. Hope to see you there! howtoacademy.com/events/georg...

The same people who claimed that every grocery store violated HIPAA during COVID are now eliminating the office that enforces HIPAA.

I'm just genuinely shocked that so many people in positions of power -- people who could take a stand, make a difference, and be remembered for it -- have no interest in being on the right side of history.

So uh... how exactly is America going to host the World Cup next year with all these travel and immigration restrictions?

Having already spent over $7M backing the right-wing candidate in Wisconsin's Supreme Court election, Elon Musk's Super PAC is now offering Wisconsin voters $100 each to sign its petition against "activist judges." This is what a broken campaign finance system looks like.

Judge REYES on a tear, telling DOJ she won't be "gaslit" by effort to say their ban on transgender people in the military isn't actually a "ban." She notes SecDef Hegseth literally called it a ban on X. "You're saying one thing in public. You're saying a different thing in court," Reyes said.

Thousands of protesters have joined a march in Istanbul in support of the city’s arrested mayor, Ekrem Imamoglu, defying a warning from Turkish President Erdogan that authorities would crack down on “street terror” aje.io/cvgpq7

The Democratic Party needs to ban corporate money in the Party primaries. Doing anything less will not solve the problem. There are Democratic oligarchs, too.

A group of eight Democratic Senators accused the Trump administration of abusing the country's immigration laws in arresting Columbia University student Mahmoud Khalil over his participation in pro-Palestinian protests reut.rs/4bUm88I

This is a disaster.

This is how we here in the U.S. also should be greeting the bravest soldier of the free world.

This is what you get when you open the door to summary renditions of mere suspects to other countries, by a fascist who doesn’t respect the rule of law.

Fact: They didn’t fear what breaking the Dept of Education would do to their kids. Their kids are in fancy private schools. They are dismantling the Dept of Ed so our kids have no choice but to be undereducated and work for their kids.

Tyrants view educated citizens as their greatest enemy. Slaveholders stopped the enslaved from learning to read. Nazis burned books. Dictators censor media. That’s why Trump is attacking education, science, museums, and the arts – to prevent us from learning. It's Fascism 101.

Reckless dismantling and delegating continue as Trump announces that special needs, nutrition programs, “and everything else” will be extracted from the Department of Education — now to be controlled by Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Musk-rats OUT of our Social Security data!

A guy with huge business and financial interests in China, and no demonstrated loyalty to America, may be getting a briefing on possible U.S. conflict with China? What could possibly go wrong.

Here are five takeaways from a week when President Trump moved ahead with deportations and sweeping changes to the federal government — and ran into obstacles in the courts.

The US invasion of Iraq began on this day 22 years ago. In the years since, the United States spent roughly $10 trillion on the so-called "war on terror." Can you imagine if we had instead invested those funds in climate, health care, housing, and education?

Schumer said many Republicans in the Senate are going to finally stand up to Trump as soon as he openly defies a court order, and he usually has a great read on what Republicans are going to do, so I’m totally confident they will be joining the Resistance any day now.

In his first major move as Canada’s prime minister, Mark Carney eliminated roughly a third of all cabinet positions, including the crucially important Minister of Women and Gender Equality. This decision marks a major setback for women’s rights in Canada.

NEW: Afghan refugees in Pakistan are being deported to Afghanistan where they are at risk of persecution. Police have raided homes, assaulted refugees, and confiscated resident permits in an effort to expel Afghans. Read more: www.hrw.org/news/2025/03...

@hrw.org & 41 other Iranian & int'l human rights groups urge the UN Human Rights Council to renew the mandate for the UN special rapporteur for #Iran & the UN fact-finding mission to investigate continued severe abuses by Iranian authorities - including persecution of women & girls.

Hungary's new anti-LGBT law bans Pride & penalizes public support for LGBT rights. It weaponizes facial recognition to target activists & suppress free expression. This is an alarming escalation of repression that demands urgent action from @ec.europa.eu. www.hrw.org/news/2025/03...

BREAKING: "The Trump administration is threatening to all but shut down the Social Security Administration in response to a judge’s ruling blocking activities by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency — an action that could delay payments to millions of beneficiaries."

AOC: Fox News and the right-wing would have you believe that these American values are something out of The Communist Manifesto. But let me tell you Fox News, I don’t believe in healthcare, labor, and human rights because I’m a Marxist.. I believe it because I was a waitress.

NEW: AOC in Vegas. Major challenge to Dem leadership🔥 “If you’re willing to fight for someone you don’t know, you’re welcome here. But I will say this: Those leaders on either side of aisle willing to put their fellow Americans down so they can get ahead; they may best find a home somewhere else.”

Remember: Almost all of us are the descendants of immigrants who fled persecution, or were brought to America under duress, or sought better lives for themselves and their descendants. Politicians who stoke fear and hatred over immigration want you to forget this. Do not.

I spoke in rural Kansas tonight… the audiences keep growing. ❤️

this is where the analogy to Brexit is really useful. A similar attitude that the US is completely self-sufficient and needs nothing from anyone. Too bad a lot of innocent people are gonna find out the hard way that this isn’t true.

"True individual freedom cannot exist without economic security and independence. People who are hungry and out of a job are the stuff of which dictatorships are made.” —FDR, 1944

DOGE plans to fire 430 workers at the IRS Taxpayer Advocate Service — which helps low-income and small business filers. Meanwhile, its wider agency layoffs will make it even easier for the rich to get away with skirting what they owe. See what DOGE is really about?

Wish we could dispense with the “but they’re incompetent” self-reassurance. That’s only true if you believe they want to govern. They themselves say otherwise: they want to destroy. And they’re very good at that. Let’s fight fascism instead of scoffing at straw men.

Trump said he was going to end this conflict less than 24 hours after taking office with one phone call to Putin. He also said repeatedly in the last few weeks how much Putin wants peace. He has nothing to say about this tonight though.

We did it folks !
