The film Zurawski vs Texas chronicles her actions. Itā€™s very powerful. I saw it at the Bend Film Festival. Watch it when you get the chance.

Iā€™ve been imagining the number of services that will be outsourced after firing government employees. Many more than directly benefit Musk. Do you think the Trump family will get a piece of the action?

How much $ does TN receive for conducting medical research? When the $ goes away, so do jobs. When jobs go away, itā€™s a slippery slope to mortgage defaults, needing food assistance and more. You canā€™t afford this.

Thatā€™s good to hear. Thank you.

I believe they also removed the annual out of pocket cap of $2,000 that Biden/Harris implemented.

As many as you want.

I did get vaccinated and caught the flu anyway. It lasted for 5 miserable days. Maybe the shot shortened the time I was sick but it is not fun.

Is anyone thinking about how this many federal workers losing their jobs is going to affect families and communities? Itā€™s not like they can just pick up a new job immediately with same wages and benefits. I feel horrible for them. They had no time to plan for being fired. FU to Elon Musk.

Two of my friends have very ill husbands. While no doubt they love them, I canā€™t imagine being a ā€œnurseā€ for years as they decline. Being single is my happy choice.

I watched the whole mesmerizing performance but I am old and he talked fast. I missed the message from his words. Thatā€™s not asking for spoon feeding. Iā€™m not that old. I just want to read his message.

I can relate. My friend of 40 years and I are at opposite ends of politics. The only way I can stay talking to her is to ignore that. Itā€™s taking too much of my energy so that friendship is slipping away. šŸ˜¢

When all the jobs at federal government and corresponding entities go away because of DOGE, where does Elon think these people will work? How will they live without income? Is the government going to help with social services and assistance? Think this through, Elon.

They got into the voting machines. Trump admitted it.

Good for you. I had ice cream. Trying times and we deserve a treat.

šŸ’™ So True. So sad to think what could have been.

I flew across country yesterday and was so happy to have made it safely. Usually I donā€™t think about dying while flying. I did yesterday. God help us through this mess.

Speaking fees for a former President would be $50k to $100k per appearance.

Agree. I always have pause to remember what it really means - the opposite - and we need a name change.

I visited my local bookstore today. When I checked out, they asked me if I was doing anything exciting today. I said this. This is my excitement for the day - being in an awesome bookstore.

Iā€™ve been in the same book club for over 30 years. It started small and grew over time. We are more free form beginning each meeting with a social hour that includes wine. To choose books, we vote by putting buttons in a jar next to the six titles we most prefer.

Why isnā€™t anyone asking why a career service attorney at DOJ would actually have a problem with Trumpā€™s agenda? Whatā€™s the agenda if it isnā€™t consistent with DOJ protocols?

I only allow myself about ten minutes of scrolling a day. Enough to stay in the game while reducing out of control stress. Thanks for the reminder to make donations to those fighting for our side. Wishing you calm soon.

Look at what is happening in the country of Georgia. People are showing up and the government is taking notice. I hope we get there - soon.

At some point everyone is going to be personally affected by Trumpā€™s action. You may not need insulin or be fired for not being loyal enough but costs are rising from eggs to insurance. A natural disaster strikes your community. Too bad. We have to stay focused and together.

Only a year until Florida can elect another governor. Democrats better find a great candidate or we will get DeSantis by another name.

Iā€™ve had one too. It was so predictable and I needed more.

Especially the ones here legally who have relatives who arenā€™t. We told them. They refused to listen.

I randomly grabbed a Rebecca Yarros book from the featured shelf at my library. Didnā€™t know the author or her popularity. Guess I will read the book next.

Thatā€™s why there are so many books and we get to choose what we like.

HEA - happily ever after. Very good at combating stress

Yes. My gripe is that while I believe all of those situations did occur, it was not believable that all of them happened to the same person.

My take on The Women. It is gripping to read about the nurses experience in Viet Nam. For me, the story fell apart after they got home. Kristin Hannah is appreciated for her research and attention to detail. But she layers on so much that it doesnā€™t appear real anymore.

Not everyone liked The Women. I didnā€™t and my FB book group is very divided on the author.

I am finally interacting with #booksky because I am tired of going down the rabbit hole of politics. It is important to me that independent book stores exist and flourish. I buy at least one book a month (usually more) from my local bookstore. Shout out to Roundabout Books, Lynx books and Powells
