On Kremlin TV, Putin intimate Solov'yov says Russia so encouraged by Trump taking their side no longer see need for ceasefire. "No, there won’t be any ceasefire. Our idea of peace is everything happening as we see fit” Then plays a clip of Vance slamming Ukraine. Vance is "our man" he says.

They have never been interested in a ceasefire. They are interested in destroying Ukraine

I think Nigel’s about to return to his ‘foreigners shouldn’t interfere in U.K. politics’ schtick.

Important reminder:

French satellite company Eutelsat is replacing Starlink and plans to send approximately 40,000 communication terminals to Ukraine. Their stock has rocketed 390% in the last 3 days as #Tesla $Starlink #SpaceX and #X continue their freefall. www.nbcnewyork.com/news/busines...

This is shocking. Even by the standards of 2025.

Exciting to watch Elon Musk pivot so elegantly from making his cars toxic to the demographic most likely to consider one, to making his Starlink a national security risk for all the governments who might have wanted it.

The last *seven days*? What *we* have *always feared*? What an irredeemable fraud he is. Gets a whole chapter in ‘How They Broke Britain’. And here he is now, ‘seeing the light’. Danny Dyer voiceover: “Twat.”

After Elon Musk has been insinuating to turn off Starlink in Ukraine, Poland‘s Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski is reminding Musk that Poland is paying for it, and he is making clear that if Musk follows through that Poland will abandon Starlink altogether for being an unreliable service.

Andrew Neil now.... and exactly four months ago. A great example of the British Right finally catching up. Their primary objective of 'owning the libs' has hit brutal reality.

"British troops will be a direct target for our missiles. You will get coffins in return." Evgeny Popov, MP in Putin's United Russia Party and Russian TV presenter, tells @faisalislam.bsky.social that it would be "unacceptable" to Russia if Britain sends peacekeeping troops to Ukraine #Newsnight

Interesting call today from a former Reform candidate with little or no love for Farage. This episode has really crystallised his position & I doubt he’s alone. Significant cos Farage hasn’t simply endorsed Trump, he’s manacled himself to him politically & in many ways personally.

@privateeyenews.bsky.social on top form as usual this issue.

NEW: Multiple reports of Russian missiles pouring into Ukraine tonight, targeting civilians. The US has shut off the intelligence Ukraine needs to protect itself. This hotel in the southern city of Kryvyi Rih took a direct hit. Trump has the blood on his hands of every Ukrainian casualty tonight.

It's a beautiful day in Kyiv, the sun is shining & the winter snow has melted, but rather than enjoying the first days of spring, people are anxious. Because you see, the frozen land thawing means fighting season is upon us once more, only this time, with no US support.

The question we must now ask: How much damage does the US want to do to Ukrainians? on.ft.com/4bpsI6T

Trying to wrap your mind around what's happened this week (it's Wednesday)? Same... So for our clarity (and possibly yours) we're resharing some WIRED scoops in this refresher thread, starting with business leaders paying millions of dollars to dine with President Donald Trump.

Astonishing that four SCOTUS justices think the president can order the federal government to refuse to pay congressionally-appropriated funds to contractors for *work already completed.* And in fact they’re “stunned” that anyone would disagree.

Yes, Trump just rescued the Russian economy

Dear Europe: You are next on the hit list. Good arguments, preemptive concessions, appeals to friendship, and flattery will not protect you. Discard those fantasies and prepare to hit back hard.

As I've been grumbling about certain BBC presenters, it's important to say that correspondents like Jeremy Bowen, Lyse Doucet and Steve Rosenberg continue to not just deliver the finest reporting and analysis but push back against daft questions. It's such a relief to hear them instead of [redacted]

Gegen uns. 🧵👇1/8

Just so brazen - now let’s have some names

Trump wasn’t impeached or punished for the first time he broke the law withholding aid from Ukraine. He’s learned that he can get away with anything

No one in DC can bargain in good faith with Trump because he will not follow laws passed by Congress. No one internationally can bargain in good faith with Trump because he will not respect agreements made by the United States. Being a counterparty just makes you a target for another shakedown.

NEW: The Trump admin has informed NOAA that two buildings that are critical for weather forecasting will have their leases canceled. If this comes to pass, it's a really big deal. Includes weather fcst nerve center in College Park, Md.: www.axios.com/2025/03/03/d...

Trump never had a peace plan for Ukraine. He had a plan for Ukraine's surrender, with a colonial resource grab. As Zelenskyy rightly refused it, or to cooperate in Trump's TV spectacular, the US has now cut Ukraine off. That's what blackmail looks like. That's what the world is up against.

While Trump cuts Ukraine funding, Orban is effectively vetoing European efforts to make up for it. Trump acts as Putin's puppet in the White House. Orban acts as his puppet within the EU. www.politico.eu/newsletter/b...

Polish Nobel Peace Prize winner Lech Wałęsa and 38 other former political prisoners of Poland's communist regime have condemned Donald Trump's treatment of Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday, which they said reminded them of communist interrogation techniques

The total cut off of deliveries to Ukraine is shockingly punitive. This is money already spent, equipment already built by industry for Ukraine, much of it has little utility to the US military. And it is just going to be sitting there in warehouses idle, as Ukrainian forces fight on.

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F. 18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it. We made this website to tell our story: 18f.org

This is Marco Rubio explaining how the USA promised to defend Ukraine forever if they got rid of their nuclear arsenal left after the Soviet Union fell. This is why lil marco was sinking into the couch. He was hoping we wouldn’t find it…so don’t RT right now this very second.

America, just in case you thought Friday went well here’s how the London Times saw it …..

“The important thing is how to react..I rolled up my sleeves and picked up the phone” Prime Minister Keir Starmer

🇺🇸 In New York, a rally was held in support of President Zelensky and against the actions of the Trump administration.

Two weeks ago, the use of the word ‘alignment’ by *critics* of the Kremlin felt bold…

“If Roosevelt had told Churchill to sue for peace on any terms with Adolf Hitler and to fork over Britain’s coal reserves to the United States in exchange for no American security guarantees, it might have approximated what Trump did to Zelensky.” www.nytimes.com/2025/02/28/o...

🚨The Trump administration is considering ending all ongoing shipments of military aid to Ukraine in response to Zelensky’s remarks in the Oval Office on Friday and his perceived intransigence in the peace process, per senior administration official
