As long as it hurts their feelings, keep tweaking them. If we get rid of 14A, even they could be subject to deportation. As 2nd gen American (whose father was in Army Air Corps in WWII & retired from AF Reserve as a major), I’d be happy to help usher some of these folks back to THEIR “homelands.”

Having a bad day?

It’s really wonderful (and quieter) in winter. Yes, the North Rim was closed two of the winters I was there (other times in spring and fall-ish), it was so compelling.

Very long time ago. First rabbi was Max Nussbaum (and Cantor Saul Silverman). Nussbaum had either fled the Nazis or been a camp survivor. Second rabbi was Lienow (wrong spelling, but we’re talking about the time of the parting of the Red Sea, so my memory is a bit fuzzy).

That works when there’s a choice. Areas like I live in now are relatively rural with fewer choices for consumers. (I grew up in Los Angeles [Temple Israel of Hollywood] and also lived many years in the Bay Area [San Francisco JCC], and my family was from NYC/Buffalo/Chicago. So quite a change.)

Unfortunately, not anywhere near a Costco.

Interestingly, I just mentioned on a social media site about a town flooding and people saying bad things about FEMA, not helping and spending $ on lavish hotels, that Trump and Musk were cutting funds and staff from FEMA. It got removed for being “nasty.” Apparently, honesty hurts.

Incorrect & absurd. The collision-caused fires were sedans & hatchback, not the wagon. Over 3m Pintos made, 27 deaths & 24 burn injuries confirmed. The 900 fires not verified. If 900 is accurate, that’s 0.03%, not good, not all. Don’t make false statements.

Well, there is mutual defense (or as they would write: defence). But it is independent though still a part of the commonwealth.

Polls now are too inconsistent because they often cut corners in proper polling techniques. I wouldn’t put much faith in this one.

There hasn’t been a real Democratic Party for many years, but the old people (I’m old and they’re even older) don’t give up power easily. The firebrands will have to wait until the old guard literally die off, like Feinstein did. Looking at you Pelosi, Schumer, et al.

Mark, you two are smiling a little too much alike. Admittedly, hers is a little less goofball-like.

I responded to one of his X supporters and my X account got locked. Admittedly, I wasn’t very pleasant to the person. But I guess antisemitism and racism, etc. are just fine. Sticking up for what’s right is banned. A true fascist website. (And West is an idiot.)

Why is the WSJ doing this? Someone must have really ticked off Murdoch.

Totally, cool, sir. The time I spent in Japan will always remain a wonderful memory for me, even though it was only 10 days.

There is no Democratic Party. Dems have tried playing all ends of spectrum & failed. Especially the so-called “progressives.” So many Dem “leaders” said they couldn’t vote for either bec. of Israel, not far left enough, etc. Plus Pelosi & others sabotaged the party both before & after the election.

Fact you believe w/o any evidence shows a lack of critical thinking re USAID & broader issue of unelected unvetted civilians getting control of every aspect of government. Now they control the federal payment system, what if they decide to only pay Republican pols & Musk? No farm subsidies, etc.

I’m sorry you’re having to re-live this crap. (Although I suspect you do anyway.) I visited Manzanar & was horribly ashamed of what my father’s generation thought was OK. As a native of SoCal (and a huge fan), I want to apologize for the stupid people in this country.

Yes, Mr. Cuban. We have really old coffee pads & small vacuum packed specialty coffees for $100 each. May be expired 15 years, but what the heck. It worked briefly for Twinkies. Seriously, just glad I'm not a coffee drinker. Or, apparently soon, a consumer of food, electricity, gasoline....

I used to work in Carbondale. How come it didn't show up when I was there? Not fair! (Stamps feet like a 2-year-old.) Seriously, amazing animals. My wife suggested it and albino foxes could be the basis of various legends.

Can someone make a funny meme with Juan Valdez saying or doing something with Trump? I'm not a meme person. BTW, we have a bunch of vacuum packed special coffees (can't be more than 20-25 years old) for the low low price of $100/2 oz packet...🤣

I’ve been trying to tell people this. Just line they didn’t believe he go this far, they still can’t believe it’ll get worse. It’s frightening.

No, and really hasn’t for a long time. It’s basically a corporate tax dodge. Greenblatt is a corporatist and conservative. And an apologist for the right, whether in the U.S. or Israel. Social justice died when he was appointed.

Remember, Supreme Court gave Trump almost absolute immunity. Doesn’t matter anymore what’s legal (or ethical).

So size is an issue? 😉

But former White House physician Ronny Jackson said Trump would love to 200. So he should only be the equivalent of someone in their 30s or so. And Kennedy had chronic back pain since his early 20s not resolved by four operations.
comment in response to post
As I responded elsewhere, Kennedy had chronic debilitating back starting in his early 20s, had multiple unsuccessful operations, & served in during the war, where his older brother Joseph died. Trump family has nothing. Age isn’t a criterion. Especially since he’s supposed to live to 200.
comment in response to post
Yes, but Kennedy had chronic back pain starting in his early 20s. He had 4 operations, including fusing and other stuff that failed to solve the issue. And he served in WWII. His older brother Joseph Jr. a Navy pilot, died in the war. No bone spurs. And no Trump ever served.

You’re in good company. Journal of Amer. Dental Assn. article July 1941–yes, 1941–reported the ancient Hebrews practiced dentistry. Bet your dentist didn’t know that.

Wait until we see what Trump and Republicans do to Indian country. Trump has long hated the casinos and industry wants control of native lands for mineral and resource extraction again he’ll try to remove tribal sovereignty and maybe even have his friends in gambling take over casinos, we’ll see.

Wow! And fake Christians, too. Johnson’s decision to not keep flags at half staff fir Carter because of Trump’s feelings shows Carter tried to follow Jesus’ path while Johnson bows to emperors and dictators instead of bowing before the King (Matthew 2:7-12). I’m not Xtian & I knew that phrase.

Not Joyce, but no. 100 or more executive orders at inauguration will include substantial restrictions on free speech and other rights, if not worse.

To clarify, Rosanna Arquette was dating Toto pianist Steve Porcaro at the time the song was written, though it wasn't technically about her.

That’s what Putin, Xi & Trump are doing: Dividing up the world in 3 spheres of influence and control. Putie gets the old Soviet states & a few other places, Xi gets Asia, parts of Africa and South America, and Dump gets the rest of the Americas and Western Europe. They may not go willingly, but…
