While I'm not involved in any political party, I think @zackpolanski.bsky.social's analysis is correct. Thanks to Labour's multiple, infuriating failures, the Greens could become huge here, but only if they are bolder, more assertive and, yes, "eco-populist". https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2025/may/05/green-deputy-zack-polanski-launches-leadership-bid-with-uk-eco-populism-vision

I do think this is the way the Greens have to pivot.
@zackpolanski.bsky.social
Since the orange toad returned it seems to me that the politicians that have done well are in fact not populists...
Of course it is up to Green members, but, I do rate Denyer & know little about Polanski...
Greens suffer *massive* media suppression.
Just one very easily accessed example is how often Farage has been on BBCQT v any Green (they haven't been turning down invitations) and this goes back long before Farage was elected to anything (it's largely *why* he was).
Lose even worse than Corbyn did against Johnson.
Corbyn’s downfall was a lack of pragmatism and a shit chief advisor Milne.Labour must get their advisors from the yellow ticket bit in the Irish political advisor shop
With FPTP, you need the votes in the right places. One seat with a 10k majority is worth 1/10 of 10 seats with a 1k majority.
So many errors due to predictive typing!
And now the Labour Party has left Labour voters* - so the Green Party is now the natural home for those who want fairness, equality and those with the broadest shoulders bearing the burden.
*Shamelessly cribbed from Zack.
The news was so dismal a couple of months ago that I wanted to do something positive, get involved in my local green party & be constructive. There's just nothing going on. I think over the last 6 months they've had a hedge laying workshop & that's about it.
Novara Media and Jeremy Corbyn have been staunch advocates of disarming Ukraine for the invading army of the russia.
Zack why you sharing the platform?
https://bsky.app/profile/zackpolanski.bsky.social/post/3laj3jxduk22f
A year ago you've endorsed the video accusing President Zelensky in “asking for money”.
Is that a trend, Zack? You will quietly support disarming of Ukraine?
https://unherd.com/breaking_news/will-the-green-party-take-a-realist-stance-on-ukraine/
Two months ago you've endorsed Owen Jones* campaigning against providing weapons to Ukraine.
You yourself highlighted the sentence where Ukrainian need for defence is painted as opportunism.
What is it with you and the russia, Zack?
*Owen Jones -- to put in context -- is the young man who in February 2022 demanded Ukraine to be carved into buffer zones on his Twitter account.
Once again, what's this strange trend, Zack?
A year ago in the interview you said "Ukraine is a sovereign nation who is under attack from Putin".
Pointing at their leader while absolving the russians of the war crimes is a common line of Corbyn, Jones and other appeasers.
Was it a slip, or a policy statement?
The Greens may be able to help prove that point.
That even the Guardian saw fit to repeat this smear is a strong indicator that electing Zack would be a good move for the Greens.

“Mr Polanski apologised for his past actions and said he never believed them.”
Maybe he should just have taken £000s in freebies.
The only people who will benefit are developers and shifty builders ( this will save them a fortune in brown paper bags for Council planners.
I used to be an active, campaigning member. Now I won't vote for them.
Don't you ever wonder why there are so many people like me?
I’d argue encouraging non-voters to vote Labour than Greens to switch to Labour is an easier task. If they had a positive vision.
They are pro Big Oil, anti Net Zero and against Workers Rights.
Being loudly vocal against Reform Ltd would probably get Greens more media attention too.
It is time the country had a credible alternative on the Left.
It's monstrous.
If we keep voting for parties that support FPTP, history shows that we will only ever have FPTP.

Could you define transphobe for me as I'm having difficulty understanding it's use?
The website you've linked to is clearly trans-hostile, which is, I believe, contrary to Green Party policy.
A person who denies the rights of a trans person based on personal animosity towards them.
Which is, at the moment, the government of the day and its predecessor, along with a small but unpleasant group of exclusionary feminists.
So how am I transphobic?
A small group?
Sorry but you've contradicted yourself. First you say it's okay to disagree (hs2) then you say it's not okay to disagree (trans). No the website is not trans hostile. 1/2
And what's good about the party is that it is OK not to agree about everything - eg we in Cheshire East remain fundamentally opposed to HS2.
Let's focus on the big issues please.

But let's focus on the positive. We have fair and equal major, mainstream policies on immigration, the cost of living crisis and supporting all vulnerable people.
I'm suspended for calling out a bully. Unfortunately they are being protected by the party despite evidence. Zack needs to stand up and help.
Engage the public via mass campaigns on, for example, planting trees or where the Green Party has local representation show how much cleaner the area has become.
Worth a listen if you can find it.
Lets have Ecologism but with policies that help the poor and give workers good salaries.

Effective communication for the digital/social media age and an upping of the media presence and strategy generally are crucial.
The current Reform-obsessed media are never going to do the Greens any favours.

Other #GreensAgainstCovid aren't so sure. After all, Adrian met with me to discuss our policy 👇🏻, has asked parliamentary written questions & spoke out on #LongCovidAwareness Day including mentioning prevention as well as research & support.
@zackpolanski.bsky.social
Experts worked on TGP policy & now CATA's H&S expert is offering to liaise w Zack. This will greatly mitigate against future pandemics & all airborne pathogens too - a win all-round, it just needs bold leadership.
Then more will #BackZack

It’d require £170bn extra taxes and £80bn extra borrowing a year to fund…
All paid for by a wealth tax…really!?
The fate of the planet’s life support systems should be a profoundly unifying issue that reaches across political and social divisions.
I hope you guys grow and strengthen for the future.

In his critique of Tories & Labour, Farage is accurate, eloquent & seriously impressive. He tells people clearly how they are being ripped off & lied to. His snake oil solutions and real intentions are a horror show. Deploying that same clear critique to deliver real solutions seems sensible.

Not encountered it before. Will have a look.
That's what's driving people to the extremes.
The platforming of .. 1/2
Those genuinely "on the right" wish to live differently to progressives, they can't be convinced our way is better, but those who just go with the flow and/or dominant ideology should be fought for.
The political figures who will be pushing the respective sides mean that a referendum will never be on the actual issue, so is a complete waste of time that will probably just lead to FPTP being kept.
People who don't use it?
People who don't cause the pollution?
I mean we should go for the producers - and especially the producers who cause the greatest harm instead of trying to blame consumers but it has to be paid.

Their core motto is war and ASICS from that the basis is that some people will live in the stone age because only a handful deserve technology. Techno bros
I'm unsure of how effective trident is/was, but being ready to strike is pivotal.
If the world was more at peace, we could relax on the defence spending.
A hedge fund billionaire wasn't it? How would that EVER appeal to a wider audience?
We have to fight them where they are getting converts as well as where we need people to be aware
