About to tape a pod with @domoniquefoxworth.bsky.social where we discuss MVP and I have a question, for science:
If you AREN’T a fan of the Bills, Ravens, Bengals or Eagles: Who is your choice and why?
If you AREN’T a fan of the Bills, Ravens, Bengals or Eagles: Who is your choice and why?
Comments
What’s crazy is nobody from Min/Det/KC has even been discussed.
Rams fan.
Lamar and Josh. And it’s a coin flip.
But if I must. Allen
1. Sequan (especially when Kellen hates running the ball, the come back from the drop screen pass that cost early season game)
2. Goff
3. Allen
Rookie MVP
1. JD
2. Nabers
3. Irving
SaQuon picked the wrong year to get 2K (or break the record in an extra game.)
As a Saints fan: I’m insulted that Burrow is even being mentioned after watching Drew Brees get trounced in voting in 2009, 2011 and 2012 (5,177, 43 TDs w/o a HC.)
It'd be cool for Saquon to actually get consideration, but the QB performances this year have been so strong idk if he'll be able to squeeze in. He's 3rd for me
But Barkley leads NFL with 1328 yards before contact, almost 400 more than 2nd. Only 9th in broken tackles & 12/19 of those with 200 carries in yac/carry
So maybe OL & scheme are why 2k happened.
But I’m a Packers fan who only watches GB. So 🤷🏻♂️
1. Josh Allen deserves it for making the season he’s having with less talent around him.
2. Lamar got a Derek Henry bump
3. Burrow should have won more
4. Saquan, the mvp doesn’t go to running backs anymore. This is a qb/pass driven league
Henry has DOUBLE the yards-before-contact he had last season.
Just kidding. He’s been great, but Josh Allen gets this one with Lamar as an extremely close second.
If the Bengals get in I feel like it has to be Burrow. Of them all you can most clearly say: they wouldn't have gotten in without this season from him. When you consider what can be achieved in the reg season (and that's it's MVP not MOP), I feel like it has to be him.
Frankly, I don’t understand why Josh Allen is even in the conversation.
1. Josh Allen
2. Saquon Barkley
3. Lamar Jackson
4. Joe Burrow
The true mvp of the league is still Patrick Mahomes imho. And I would probably have Burrow as MVP on just stats alone but can’t ignore record, even though it’s not his fault at all.
Then again last year, Lamar sort of won MVP by default in a weak year. I’m ok with the tiebreak going against him in the next year.
But I think right now it's Josh Allen, by a good margin too.
I believe that Josh had to overcome more to achieve what he is currently doing.
Explanation-
BUF started the year with the 2nd best odds to win the AFC East when everyone was worried about NYJ & MIA. I’d assume that’s around 10 wins if that came to fruition
The biggest loss free agent wise for BAL was defensively, whereas Josh lost his top two receivers & it’s not like Kincaid is wowing anyone this year.
The last 2 years the MVP has gone to whoever had the 1 seed in the AFC, so with Josh being higher in the standings between the two, that would be my vote.
Ultimately I would pick Josh over Lamar because I think his highlights look cooler. If there's a better tie breaker than that, I don't wanna know it
Lamar and D. Henry are just too fun a combo and Josh Allen is Josh Allen
But otherwise Lamar>Allen but it’s so close Allen will get it since he doesn’t have one. Blech
Especially if he breaks Dickerson's single season rushing record.
Happy New Year to you & your family my friend.
I know it shouldn't matter but they are basically equal so I want Allen to get it.
I'm a Packers fan and while I'm wary of the other two they don't scare me the same.
I think it's Allen.

Dude is going OFF this year
I think Lamar should get it, hate to say it, he may add a ring this year also.
Burrow has the stats.
Saquon does it all but it's a QB award sadly.
Allen does more with less.
Hard for a Dolphins fan to admit but Allen is the best player in the league imo. However MVP goes to Lamar over 2nd place Burrow.
If the award is MVP, then the team’s success has to come into play, and it’s Allen. They go nowhere without him.
If it’s MOP, then it’s Burrow. That dude is lighting it up, and if he had even an average D, they’d be 12-4. Modern day Marino/Fouts.
Best Player from statistics of yards, TD’s and INT’s would be Burrow. But his season is lost because the Bengals are average with him.
Most Valuable would have to be Lamar Jackson. Ravens would be lost without him.
So give Saquon the MVP.
But I was told I couldn’t vote for a player on my team. #Skol

Would understand any of the above though.
I’ll go with Jackson for the stats but I’m not sure that the Bills don’t depend on Allen even more and they have a better record.
Joe Burrow and it's so obvious.
Barkley also deserves some recognition for bouncing back in style and making a good team better, but I think he gets to enjoy the award of playing behind a competent line for a change.
Don't buy the argument that anyone is 'due'.
I'd be happy if Saquan won
I cant buy any of the Burrow arguments 🤷♂️
Josh Allen for MVP.
Dual threat QB with the numbers and no MVP yet.
I AM A Bengals fan, and say it's Josh Allen.
He may have a slightly above average D, but remove Allen, and this team is vying for the 1st pick in the draft. Eagles still are a winning team without Barkley. Baltimore takes more a hit, but Henry keeps them from total disaster.
Of the 4 teams, only Buffalo and Cincy end up as probably 1 win teams without their respective MVP candidates. 🤷♂️
I'd give it to Saquon. He's carried an offense in a way I no longer thought possible by RBs in today's NFL.
Then again, I'm also a Bears fan, so largely unfamiliar with good QB play.
Less talent than those other candidates, but Dude is exuding 1000% effort on every play. Playing like it’s a contract year, AFTER signing his deal here.
Those two are on a different level, Hurts and Burrow have played really well, but not to that standard.
And as a Vikings fan, I want to submit Sam Darnold as an honourable mention
Great season
Few stinkers
Big games vs some good teams
I expect them to win a very tough division
Thats why i bet this in the preseason, the talent around him was never going to argue otherwise.
The three other candidates have a huge talent edge surrounding them.
Allen. Lamar is having an amazing season and I can see the argument for him, but he also has Henry whom defenses have to plan for.
Mostly a WAR based logic - replace Allen with an average guy and the Bills are nowhere. Replace Lamar and the Ravens are still a good team
I’d also argue Saquon’s case isn’t as good as Lamar’s.
