It sneaks up on me from nowhere, stays for a few days and then disappears as mysteriously as if arrived. But it will be back. Unprompted, whenever I let my guard down.
Usually I find myself unconsciously humming it while getting more coffee in the teacher's lounge at 7:45am before attempting to teach teenagers what a thesis statement is.
I’m not a teacher but I also suffer from occasional bouts of the Kellerman’s anthem. It’s one of maybe 3 songs that I try not to even think about because of how persistently it lingers in my head!
It's a show about this kid who is at boarding school and then he goes to live with his Rich father and his stuffy grandfather and his father's secretary who is also the love interest maybe and it's really not good.
Remember Northern Exposure? The hippie lime character that did the radio show once talked about the future that was coming where everyone stopped going to movies and watched movies and listened to music on their own devices. The scene where the dj describes this future has stuck in my mind!!
My brain loop is the first couple seconds of the jackass theme song, it never finishes the song either! I’ve heard it so many times but my brain REALLY like the start
When a youngun, I asked my father how the Duke boys could be in trouble with law since the day they were born. They were just babies! He made up a long story about outlaws giving birth in cars while prohibitionist police gave chase.
Mine's 1999 by Prince. Just randomly I'll have a song i've not heard in years do that.
like, nah, we can't tell you what you ate for lunch 3 days ago, but here's the full melody and lyrics to a song. Except that one part, and we'll just put nonsense.
Not 24/7, it's useful for evaluating a sound system. When Waylon's vocal key changes in the bridge ("making their way the only way they know how"), the vocal volume should increase a little, consistent with the instrumentation. A system that's too forward will make you reach for the volume control.
There's this new KitchenAid dishwasher commercial with this song that absolutely will not leave me. I've fully been waking up to that song in my head every day.
"Oh, I love the racks! Racks on racks, on racks, on racks, on racks..."
I just have like a sloshing whirring noise. Wouldn't wanna forget all those years in a factory! I'll happily swap you for the Dukes of Hazzard, if just for a day
No I have “Piano Man”…To forget about life for a while and the piano, it sounds like a carnival and the microphone smells like a beer and they sit at the bar and put bread in my jar
and say "Man, what are you doin' here?" La La deda 🎶🎼🎵 can’t get rid of it. Day in day out. How did u tap to the Dukes
"Straigtnin' the curves, flattenin' the hills, some day the lord will get em but the law never will". When I'm driving a little over the speed limit, that bit pops into my head at will.
Saw the blonde Duke boy was in a Hallmark movie my wife was watching. He never once jumped a river in his car! There’s 86 minutes of my life I’ll never get back.
There are a few songs that are recurring ear worms for me. I woke up at 12:30 a.m. with Lady Gaga singing in my head, so I played the song 3 times, then put on rainstorm audio. Playing it several times kinda reduces it power. That probably doesn’t make sense, but it works for me. 🤷♀️
Now this is the story all about how,
My life got flipped-turned upside down,
And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there,
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called BelAir
Just two good ol boys…never meaning no harm…. Yes…it is there…and it doesn’t take much to hear Roscoe P Coaltrain’s snuggling laugh to get it cued up!!
No because my uncle was killed by a replica dukes hazzards car it hit him in 1989 and sent him flying 50 feet and he landed in a tree and got left for the birds and so we dont listen to country western music in my home anymore

Unlike, well...

Damn it!
Now Beverly Hillbillies theme is playing!?!😝
"Oh, I love the racks! Racks on racks, on racks, on racks, on racks..."
And when I do, I can see the intro with (I assume) Jennings playing the guitar.

I present the greatest video game tv tie in intro ever
Good day, sir.
"How can I help it, if I think you're funny when you're mad."

Thanks for that.

Now get that out of your head 🤪
All the time
I'm losing my mind
Or something very close to that!
